I need to go back to school so I can cause chemical fires and electrocute things. Sounds fun!
But I got Street smarts man. And what did my street smarts do for me today?
$40 ACC 150. Got it home and it even mostly works!
Needs a good cleaning and probably some new caps, so thats another project to keep me from doing real and usefull things. YAY!

Well played. I'm hoping I can get this thing working in top notch condition and then perhaps pass it down to another Doom Roomer. I missed how good that vibrato is though. this one hums really bad right now but the tone is still there.
I dunno, maybe I'll keep it. sweet amps.

true story, i found an acc 150 for $30 at a garage sale last year. and i didn't have but about $15 on me with no other money coming my way for at least a few days. i had to pass. my friend bought it. he's a drummer. i hate him for that. it worked perfectly.
but i'm happy for you. good job.

The guy I got it from said his neighbor gave it to him because he knew the guy played guitar. But he couldn't say if it worked or not because he "didn't have an amp to try it with"
At least your friend got that one. They're pretty tough amps. this one needs a bit of love with some de-oxit, hopefully that cures all that ails it.

Hey guys, I don't know anything about Red Bear amps. Just curious, how much would a used one go for? Let's say someone just has one sitting around and you would want to try to make an offer. I like to get an idea for what different brands go for and the price ranges for Orange, Marshall, etc. are no secret.

60w or 120w? When was it serviced and are there are any mods to it?
They usually go for somewhere in the 4-500$ range if I remember correctly, a couple DR members have sold them recently and might be able to give you a better idea.

Yeah, Astro's on the money--I'd say $300-$600 ranging from "works but is beat to shit" to "still in the box-like newness" for Red Bear, not counting shipping.

I paid 450 for mine last year (an MKE120)
Worth it.

Why I asked is because I noticed that a friend of a friend said he had one sitting around. I don't have any budget or room for that kind of amp right now, but if I can find out if he's willing to sell it, would any of you be interested? I don't mind brokering a deal.

Well the OR120 guy got back to me.... and it looks to be in tip top shape with JJ EL34's in the power section and EHX + Sovtek 12ax7's in the pre. Really pondering it right now... Gah I hate GAS....
Anyways here's a gut shot: (NSFW for size)

You may ask yourself, where is that Orange Amplifer?
You may tell yourself, this is not my beautiful amp.
You may tell yourself, why would I want MV?
You may ask yourself, am I right, am I wrong?
You may say to yourself, my god, what have I done?

that is ridiculously clean for its age...i think when i comes to selling gear and buying new stuff...you have to ask yourself, can i easily buy the stuff im selling again...if the answer is yes and then its not so hard to sell. then ask yourself the thing you are buying, is it readily available, if not (in the case) then it makes the decision easier...right?

Baltimore.
Well not yet.
Cause I don't currently own and MV amps, and would like one for a clean / dirty stereo setup.
redundant, in the world of GAS there is no real right or wrong
Gone down an eternal rabbit hole.

Yes it is, his tech (apparently At the Drive In's guitar / amp tech...) went through and tidy'd up some of the wires as well as installing a heavier duty power switch and biased it slightly lower than normal to preserve tube life.
What you bring up is exactly what ran through my head.... Everything I would be selling is still in production and available (Skyhammer pre, timeline w/ dmc, PT2 + VL PP2+, a couple Mooer Pedals) while this amp is no longer in Production and knowing the current owners of the company will never be released in a true replica again. So by this logic... I should go for it right?

Getting over flu, it hurts to laugh, but this was worth it.
