I'm still laughing at the fact that they fucked up Wonder Woman right from the start because they realized that if they stuck with her actual origin story they'd just end up making Captain America with a woman.

It was almost watching a Seth Rogen movie with muscles...disappointing.
Ragnarok was a hulk vs jeff goldblum film with some other stuff attached

Agreed. I kept getting pulled out of it when they would almost come out of character with the silly shit. It was as if the movie were made out of the bloopers.

I'm caught up as of this weekend save Black Panther, I generally don't hit the theatres for movies just too much real human contact for me.
DC is failing to do what Marvel has done masterfully through all of this. With Marvel I got introduced to a character (main) and got a good-great individual story. The character may have been modified a bit from the comic but it was still a solid interpretation of a hero/villain that I've known my whole life. There is grounds for his 'origin' and a relatable human element to each plight with something to attach myself to. The story's are well written and cast and presented the hero as a person with flaws. From there they slowly built a universe that they can/have filled with more wonders/tragedies that we feel like we can reach out and touch. A lot like I felt Star Wars did with the original trilogy and is doing with the new trilogy. Not as well but well beyond the prequels.
DC seems to have taken it's Hero/Villains and said "we all know their origins and what have you... let's jump start everything and PUSH everyone into it." I feel like Wonder Woman got a fair shake and Man of Steel was a good way to bring Superman in, but the rest was pushed far too quickly. Batman doesn't need an origin story but one that could be watched with Affleck to reintroduce us to the new ittereation. Aquaman (read lame ass non hero) and Cyborg were never flushed out well. Suicide Squad was terrible in everyway. And bow we just to justice league and through everyone together. B vs S was not great and waaaaaay to long for its premise and had no filler behind it. Lex was poorly written and not cast all that well(my opinion).
Essentially I feel like Marvel has gone the Steven Spielberg with great story telling and DC is doing the Michael Bay thing with big explosions and no substance. DC is a decade behind the curve and are putting the headliner before the warm up. Imagine your band having to follow up the Stones, Zeppilin, Sleep, Johnny Cash, or Tito Puente... open maybe but not follow
Sorry rant over, I wasted 3$ on dawn of justice last night and I'm still salty

I grew up watching Teen Titans, and I hate that they managed to "reboot" the series into a worse, more child-like state. It would be like every Muppet's movie being Muppet Babies instead once the cartoon aired. CUT THAT SHIT OUT.
Didn't know Blade was getting redone. Not sure who they could cast at this point for that.
Excited for The Boys to get a TV show. Hope they do a good job with it. Definitely one of my favorite comics I've ever read.

Nah, it's a fantasy of a nation that avoided colonization. Then the movie is largely about the fallout of that isolation, and facing the responsibility of sharing your privilege.

Since you asked, some rando named Jack Quaid is Wee Huey (Hughie?) and Karl Urban is ol Billy Butcher..
I thought this was another TV pickup, but it looks like an Amazon Original for the moment... that could bode well. Hopefully they don't leave out any major characters or change the story in big ways.

i mean, except for it pretty much stealing The Raid's plot (or is it vice versa? i think Raid was done first?), i dug it. what a Dredd movie should be.

Agreed. The violence was dope. And Karl Urban channeling Josey Wales was dope too.

I never saw the Raid so I got no idea. I'll take your word for it.
But yeah, definitely a good translation of the Dreddiverse to film.

Cool, I’ll put it on the list of shit I may one day get to when I’m not train wrecking my life trying to make it better.
