Thing is, the more I thought about it, the more I realized my distaste had more to do with the laziness than the use. You could definitely do a cool Batman logo themed pedal. I mean, if it was the Jim Aparo-era Batman logo, offset, with Ben-Day dots on a solid grey background or maybe the Frank Miller The Dark Knight Returns logo stomped with mud, then it would be visually interesting, have artistic value, and communicate your love of Batman to the world via your pedalboard. Just plastering on a logo, particularly a bland one, with no context or sense of design is worse than plain, to me.

The problem that you're getting at Chuck is the total lack of any sense of aesthetics and/or graphic design that most boutique pedals suffer from. It drives me fucking crazy that folks are prepared to plunk down money on stuff that looks like it was drawn by a drunk Nascar fan upon discovering Microsoft Paint.
