You can then use your foot to vary filter freq, cutoff freq, notch freq, delay rate, reverb length, crush depth.. all those fun parameters will be very powerful and musical using a foot pedal.

That's awesome Kev, haha I love those guys! I watched a guy make a real life Finn sword on YouTube, just like the one on the left, pretty cool.
I was thinking maybe not a sword though.. maybe a more badass and intimidating dungeon crawling kinda weapon... I mean, if I was going into a dungeon I'd bring one of those double edged battle axes... man this is going to be a nerdy guitar pedal. I've got a 20 sided youknowwhat on the pcb already.
Changing the memory chip is just pulling out a little IC guy and pushing in a new one, super easy.

Re: Been having a lot of fun with this lately....
The BitQuest will be available this year for sure, I think! *smile* I ordered the first prototype pcb last night actually, hoping it'll arrive this Friday and then for the long weekend I'll tuck in and make the first BQ proto... what a long weekend!
With a good pcb layout and another weekend or nine working on the code we'd be ready to at least do an initial run for ILFers in a special finish kinda thing, which I do think we'll do.
This isn't revolutionary though, just a fun idea with the Spin chip that lots of companies have been using for years. I think most companies wouldn't go for the memory chip swapping because there's no way to protect or hide the information on the memory chip.. anybody with a usb programmer could pop the memory chip into that and look at the code. I don't really care about showing what I'm doing though, it's always about more than that anyway and anybody truly determined can get their hands on any circuit etc they want, can't worry about it.
I also think most companies would rather sell you 8 pedals than one pedal with 8 different sounds.. but I'm just one guy and I don't want to make 8 different pedals to go on a Bit Quest.. one is enough!

Right on Ryan! Either way man, this is such a great idea and it'll give more people who are experienced or not with Dr.S pedals the chance to hear more of your magical sounds!

Hey Ruben! Sorry I missed your post, first one! Welcome to ILF! *smile*
I think reverse and gated reverb would be awesome too... I could pull off gated reverb now but I've got a lot to learn for reverse..I've read that the Spin isn't suited for reverse so I'll probably never be smart enough for that....

Also how nice is the tracking on the pitch shifting patch? If its not great how about a patch dedicated to up one octave and down one octave....you would be the raddest evar.
