Thanks Sylnau, although my efforts are always collaborative.

Picked up the box this morning from the post office, can't wait! :)

Fairfield Circuitry... great pedals! Quick impressions :

I have an RR already, so I knew about the amazing thick/warm tremolo, 70s robot, harpsichord, bell and gamelan sounds that you can get already; it's maybe waste, but I've been using a lot as an amazing shimmery boost (sine wave trem setting with the Mix far left). To me, it's one of the great pedals out there. I don't even really like ring mods, but it's all the other sounds it can do.

The big surprise is the Four Eyes, especially for me in a band setting, there's a lot of different sounds and ways of cutting through the mix. Still getting to know it. Barbershop - really nicely voiced OD; Unpleasant Surprise - fun slashing gated fuzz. Haven't really used the operator properly yet.

I'll try and get an audio or video thing done in the next two days, then it's going on.

Sadly, I think I'm going to have to drop out of this tourbox. My turn is (finally) coming up soon, but it's likely to turn up right around the time I'm moving, so I won't have time to properly try out and demo the pedals.

My local guitar store is stocking these now anyway, so I'll go in and try out the whole lineup sometime soon.

God damn I can't believe this tourbox of awesomeness is still on the move! Like a solid 9 months of travel thus far.

the Unpleasant Surprise really got under my skin. i'm going to have to get one sometime soon. there's one particular setting where the sound changes as it decays, fading from a mad chainsaw fuzz to a clean signal, which i'm DYING to try with another fuzz upstream from it. i've never seen a fuzz which does anything like that. and it's not just a crazy fuzz, either...its more controlled settings offer a high-gain fuzz in the Devi Ever/Zvex ballpark. there's a vast array of sounds living in there that i want to get to know.

i just want to reiterate that IMO the great thing about Fairfield devices is that they can do wild-and-crazy-guy things which will boggle your mind, and also perform basic utility effects functions with beauty and individuality. if i was a rich guy, i'd have a board that was half FC and included the whole line, but i'm not QUITE ready to let go of some of my favorite older fuzz sounds.

The neighbours downstairs enjoyed this... Alot.

RR with grandfather clock settings; Unpl. Surp. with all switches up into DOD AD680, then some d.sc. reverberator, harmonizer and freeze.
Man, these are good sounding pedals! :thumb: :!!!:
Video and better recorded other stuff to come!

The tourbox arrived with me a couple of days ago, but I haven't actually had a chance to even open it up yet. I'm in a bit of a shitty situation right now and I'm moving next week for the second time in the space of a month. I'm last on the list, so hopefully Guillaume will be cool with me hanging on to it for a little longer than I'd like, as I don't think I'll have the time to try them out, (and hopefully make some demos) for at least a week.

This is finally it! Hope everyone had fun with the pedals. Thanks for the great experience, I really enjoyed the clips and thoughts. ILF rules

Hope things are better for comrade colin. Did you get a chance to play them yet? Having them back soon would be cool, plan on handing some pedals over to the guys from Absolutely Free (formerly DD/MM/YYYY) but I'm short on demo units. Let me know.
