Actually 6 teams have come back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the series at 3-3. 3 of them have won.

Shhh,...not so loud. I'm not trying to upset BCBC,....

;)

If I remember correctly it is 3 teams in NHL history. That have come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the series.

The Maple Laughs
The Isles
and the Flyers.

It would be cool to see it happen two years in a row.

As long as it's not the B's doing it two years in a row, I'll be ok.

I'm really rooting for the Sharks, because it would be awesome for the B's to face Thornton for the cup. But that's getting ahead of things, and I'm not looking forward to facing the Bolts. The Bolts remind me a lot of the Habs, that flopping, whiny, bait-you-into-stupid-penalties kind of euro-trash hockey. I hate that shit (especially since the B's almost always fall for it). The Flyers I respected, because they at least play a tough forechecking style without any of that shit.

Wings vs. Bruins would be rad. My wife is from Boston so I would have a great time watching the Wings beat them down :)

These always come out after a team bows out of the Playoffs,....for the Flyers the injury/surgery report:

Chris Pronger = Herniated Disc (Back Injury)
Mike Richards = Wrist (indicated that it was bothering him all year)
Andrej Mezaros = Wrist (torn cartilage)
Blair Betts = Hand
Kris Versteeg = Two tears in his abdominal wall

and FWIW Micheal Leighton needed surgery to repair his hip.

Flyers were playing with some banged up players,...and could explain their lackluster performance this post season.

There are a lot of Flyers fans who are being hard on Mike Richards leadership,...saying he should be stripped of the "C",....but he is a warrior and a good soft spoken leader. He is one of my favorite Flyers and while the Philly Phaithful have a reputation for being hard on their teams,....I wish they'd lighten up on the guy.

And there we go. All of Boston was waiting for the playoff Tim Thomas we all remember to come back, puke on his shoes and lose us a game. Granted, he stood on his head for about 7 straight games. But most of us knew that wasn't gonna last.

I guess this thread is mostly about NHL, but has anyone been following the world cup?

I'm finnish, and the finals (starting in about 30 mins or so) is Finland vs Sweden, so no matter the outcome, there'll be anarchy for at least 3 weeks here.

In Finland anyone who says they don't like hockey is committing treason.

I haven't been following the world cup. It's not easily accessible here in the states. Some people follow it though.

I do pay attention to the CHL (which is a junior league that combines the WHL/QMJHL/OHL). It's were a lot of NHL drafted players cut their teeth before heading to the AHL which is one echelon below the NHL.

Oh shit, we won the world cup.

Finland beat Sweden 6 - 1. Joy joy joy. Actually it's the second time Finland won gold, even though we've been in the final 8 times in the last 16 years..

It's really cool because we didn't have our old "greats" (Rinne, Selänne, Jokinen, S. Koivu, Kiprusoff) and the team had a lot of world cup first-timers and people who haven't been discovered by NHL or KHL (Russian equivalent of NHL)

By the way, in case you've never seen a KHL match you definitely should check it out! Compared to NHL, it's so so so much more aggressive - and I don't mean that it has more fights or anything. The goalies there have to be really amazing, and the matches have this breathtaking high tempo all the time.

I gotta go and drink and yell a lot now, I have about 8 hrs time to celebrate before work starts :D
