in that case middle is least gain. since the network is not connected. All you need to make sure is that all 3 positions have useful differences in tone/gain

Could I put a different diode in the center position that way I could go between stock Rat, Ruetz mod, and then leds for a Turbo Rat? Or since the switch is off in that position then I would need a different switch for that?

Oh, sorry, I didn't understand your first comment. I honestly have no idea how to improve your sustain without inducing feedback. The louder you play the amp the more sustain you'll derive, but you'll also increase the chance of feedback, because that's partially what sustain is. Hmmm... interesting question. Thicker strings? Parker is on point regarding guitars anyway. Although Telecasters can sustain nicely, they don't have the sustain of an aluminium guitar or anything with a neck set through the body.

Your predicament really confuses. Maybe you should try and find an attenuator to borrow and see if you can keep the amps at maximum volume and gain but attenuate the dB level to something more manageable for home and small shows.

I've got Ernie Ball 2839 (13-72) on my guitar right now. don't think thickness is an issue. (the tele I play is a 27" baritone)
I'm gonna try another baritone later this week. There's just not that many baritone offerings to let me pick from. In my band right now I'm pretty married to Drop A tunings. I've considered an aluminum neck, they're just so expensive.. years back I had an aluminum Kramer - always went out of tune. are the new offerings from EGC much better?

Your strings are way too thin. I use iron girders I find unused (at least I think they're unused) at my local train station. My sustain is INFINITE!

As regards EGC, I've not heard anyone complain about tuning issues.


And as for attenuators, why I suggested one is, if you love the sound of your amp cranked, which you said you did, why are you asking questions? I don't mean that in a rude way. I mean, why is there is a concern if you already have the perfect tone? BUT!! If you were having issues with the volume being too loud for home or certain stages, an attenuator will keep much of the same sound but bring it down a few decibels so that it is more manageable.

Yeah, reading back that's how it came across. I meant that if he's happy with his amp cranked then an attenuator can tame those upper decibels that eventually damage the hearing.

I've been thinking about it, and if I do want that tone, and it is the volume causing the feedback/sustain problems then it is a reasonable suggestion.

Angry: I'm thinking about throwing my Dyna comp back in the mix, how does your comp interact with your pharoah, particularly in germ. mode (which, incidentally looks super sexy in that enclosure)?
I was thinking it might assist in fattening up the germ. mode on the pdx, making it a bit more usable/versatile. The 308 mode is the only way I'm digging it, it'd be nice to frre up some more options.
