should we start a cab build thread
i have this idea
half of an acoustic 301 or 371 whatever
with 2 15"s inside and 2 12"s on the face
could be a good place to hash out ideas
and show the final creations
and talk whiskey into taking his stuff apart for pictures
cause why not fold everything if you could? right?

Thank you very much! Hell the logo was the easy part once I had decided on a name that really stuck with me. Then I think I spent about a month going to find someone to do my plates at a reasonable price at the volume I bought at the time. Yea I can't wait to get to those builds. Only thing that sucks is coming in May I'll be going out of town back and forth for awhile... which is nice to make some overtime, sucks on me doing anything else since I can't build out of town, i can't even play music out of town. So that's why I hate it.
whiskey_face wrote: good fucking job dude. if I had more time off from work then one day a month I would be building cabs like crazy. ive got like 4 builds I need to tackle but don't have the time :picard:
Thank you! Appreciate that, I'm honestly not sure how I make the time as well with everything else I'm doing. I guess I'm fortunate and able to arrange my shit more flexible to achieve the goals.

Hell sounds like a proper plan to me. In my research I did my best to find as much info on all the cabs I really like and like how they are built. Since I do enough wood working, some of them I can easily just look and see how it was done, others required a bit more digging and reading. Either way I have some solid works here and plan to do more now that I'm pleased with them.

A big "fuck yeah" to everything on the last couple of pages. I'm still waiting on my custom cab to get finished. kinda wondering if it got fucked up as last time I saw it, it was nearly done and that was a couple months ago.

SLK, build some folded designs and I might have to talk to you about shipping. that might be prohibitive but those look fucking stellar.

awesome thank you! and I'll research it up how to do it properly and then see how to do it improved upon. I was thinking about doing one up like my Fender 412 where it's the inverted pyramid. that shit is so fucking great and bassy.

Holy shit, SLK, I didn't realise you built them.
Fucking oath man. :thumb: Fucking oath.

I am all about a "build a cab" thread.
I am yet to make anymore progress on my OS 2x12.
My dad is renovating his bathroom, he needed to replace some of the flooring, so I put the word on him to give me the heads up when he ordered the ply, see if I could get some fancy ply on the tradie discount.
He went ahead and ordered it, forgot me....thanks old man.
But, I need to be schooled in this shit before I start it, so I'll leave that in one of your capable hands, chippies.

Thank you very much! I'm still thrilled I have done it and hell it'll almost be hard to sell em aside from knowing I can just build more. haha.

You need to punch your dad in the head. I'm actually in the process of building 2 212 cabs out of birch. One is an order I got the very day I put up the Mauler facebook page. The other is just being done with the rest of the birch i had left after cutting out everything for the first one. I'll start the thread, hell I'll take some pics of my 2 new works in progress.

You know what would be sweet? DIY cab kits. For those who want a custom built cab, have their own speakers and don't want to pay the massive shipping costs associated with an assembled cab. Lots of people don't have the tools to make the baffles and other odd cuts. But I bet everyone has a screwdriver.
