Its magical. Discharge was one of the first bands that really bridged the gap between metal and punk for me--I got a hold of Decontrol* and it was a serious "ok, this is what's up" moment.

Hey all, a few people I know who already post here keep telling me I should be around these parts. So just joined up today, just saying hello. I regularly post on Talkbass, sporadically on the StonerRockLives Jam Room and I was a regular poster on the old SR.com Jam Room forum as well.

Ah crap not again!

I just ordered the digitech Jamman express xt new thingy. supposedly they finally shipped. I'm a little sketched as most places said "available for preorder" still but the amazon seller claimed to have 6 in stock so we'll see.
Anyways I'll post up a demo/review in the main forum when it gets here. REALLY hoping it works as well as the ditto as that thing was easy to use, just didn't have stereo and thusly wasn't going to work in my rig.

Probably my favorite Coliseum song. I blast the True Quiet / Last Wave 7" a shit ton too though.

I've got another Rat on the way. Found it for stupid cheap and couldn't pass it up. I ran my old one on a low gain OD setting with the Ruetz mod into my amp to give my dirt tones a little boost. Never tried stacking it at all and wanna try it with my Revelation and Ritual when it comes in. Which sounds best? Rat > Fuzz or the other way around. Ideally, I'd like to have it set where it sounds great stacked or by itself. I wanna say though that thinking back now I may have ran my Rat into my Pharaoh when I was playing bass. I can't remember for sure other than I know the Rat sounded huge as fuck on bass.

I prefer the rat going into other things, as previously mentioned its an amazing booster. I send my rat (gain max, filter full ccw, volume 3:00) into my Dirge Gloomdrive and love it, thick crunchy and with a just a lil splutter. The way I like it.

Yeah, rats have this weird thing where they're great in front of stuff, but if they're after fuzz it comes out as rat-flavored whatever.

Lately I've been playing my RAT after a fuzz (TAFM) and really dig it. I agree that a rat after a fuzz will make the fuzz sound ratty, but if you keep the gain below 3pm on a rat, it kinda just adds some mids and a hair of fizzyness to a dark fuzz like the TAFM. And I also agree in that RATS sound superb set low gain. I crank the volume and keep the gain down low, so it's acting more as a colored boost / light OD. I used to have a Ritual Fuzz and remember the first few times I played it I thought it sounded like garbage stacked. I was so disappointed when I would pair it after any pedal I had and then one day I checked it out before a different gain in the chain and it sounded excellent. While my Pharaoh sounds better the opposite. And both those scenarios include the Rat being the stacked. So I guess it's just best to experiment. Whatever sounds best to your ears :thumb:
