Yeah, it will not be the best of deals with the shipping but still a solid deal. The ry guy is picking it up later today, he is a true fuzz bro!

It probably saw use in store before being buried under other stuff. If it was priced at the original sale point I can understand why it never sold there.
Downside. It's really fucking old, likely will need recap and possibly some reisitors swapped out. It's not good for amps to sit.
Upside. All the hardware and transformers should be in great shape, little work and a solid monster amp for under a g.

Why am I trying to talk someone into it?
So I don't try to get it. I have to many amps and projects as it is.

Obulus, that amp will be a loud clean solid state pedal platform. I cant say for sure that it's worth all the trouble but the ry guy is a solid dude, if it's a deal in the euro market after all that, why not.

I still think just hunting down the original Peavey version would be cheaper and better in the long run but :idk:

I dont think this is a peavey clone. the only info I could dig up said it was a marshal major, and another source called it a simms watts/marshall hybrid. Did peavey make a 240 watt head with kt88's?

The VTB-300. I could be wrong but the Earth looks pretty damn close to it.

This guy is selling his custom MIM telecaster. Set up to drop A w/ a humbucker & sperzel tuners. He's asking $600 OBO.

http://newjersey.craigslist.org/msg/4446533770.html

I want this but there's no way I'm paying anywhere near 600. I'm afraid to email him with an insulting offer. What do you guys think is fair for a rebuilt custom MIM tele?

I'd rock that thing in a heartbeat, for half the price. The one I just sold was very very close to that but with even better parts and sold for $350 shipped.

Yeah I was thinking around $300 as well. Something tells me that offer would be rejected though.

Some people see it this way: customized guitar price = base guitar model price + upgraded parts
Unfortunately other people see it this way: customized guitar price = base guitar model price - X (X being a figure based on the fact that it's not stock)

So by getting a guitar like this you take a gamble that if you want to sell/trade it some day you'll have a tough time getting a person to agree to the first kind of price.

Split the difference at $450? Worst he can do is say no.

I emailed him. I made a first offer of my ESP LTD Viper + cash in exchange for the tele. Hopefully he's interested.

Krosis would still be over paying IMO.

Definitely overpriced, but a cool looking guitar. Some people just don't get that the used market doesn't reimburse you for your modifications. There are exceptions, but I can't figure any reason that guitar would be worth $600. A trade is a good idea, if it's something worth parting with for that, go for it.
