the fucking reverb on those clean parts is so fucking awesome too, which is why i picked this particular one( skip to 1:10 for the first snippet). nortt is the very best of the best of very darkest of the funeral doom black metal blend.
Hey, man, I'm just now getting into Loss's Despond. I recall you mentioning them I think a while back and I figure Asunder and Mournful Congregation are good bands to check out but any other recommendations that'd fit that mold?
you definitely need to check out asunder and mournful congregation. a clarion call and the june frost are my favorite albums by them respectively, though i haven't spent enough time with the other mournful congregation albums. i'm not very smart right now, but i'll make a little list of other shit like that you might like. i can't think of any bands really, even though i listen to this shit all the time. i'm tired, but here's a few off the top of my head.
evoken- any album, one of the best bands in the genre
aldebaran- newest album on profound lore. awesome portland band. they've gone through a few lineup changes and the new album is really the only one that showcases their current awesomeness very accurately.
skepticism- pharmakon. a little simpler, but it's classic funeral doom
ahab- awesome german band based on moby dick with two killer albums out
katatonia- dance of december souls and brave murder day. classic awesome doom. they've got some bad albums but those two rule. a bit more uptempo and less bleak than the serious funeral doom, but amazing nonetheless.
october tide- awesome band that some katatonia dudes formed when katatonia started making bad music. sounds exactly like good katatonia.
mourning beloveth- somewhere between gothic and funeral doom in a my dying bride kind of way. it's super heavy and really good.
towards darkness- for some reason no one knows this band. they rule.
hell- this fucking band is amazing and current and they're from salem oregon and you'll be a fool not to check it out.
corrupted- power house japanese doom gods. check out the more recent shit, they've only gotten better and some of their early stuff might not be strong enough to catch your attention. paso inferior is a good starting place, although i think their newest one is even better. it's got a german name but i can't remember it.
i'll post some more shit and some youtube links later when i can think and i'm not so tired.

Last time I was on here it was on page 69 and now I had to read all the way through to page 88. Do you motherfuckers even have a life outside of the internet? I can't keep up with this. So much shit to quote and reply to....
Love some funeral doom. Shape of Despair is another one to check out if any of you dudes were checking out all of those bands listed.
Alex, how does the Joyo sound on your Marshall? I've thought about picking up one to use as a light OD for my clean and to also boost the Revelation (not that it needs it at all, but both of those would kick my amp up to 12).
Skip, if I wasn't broke I'd hit you up about that Supercollider. I had a v2 in the same color scheme and loved it on bass paired up with a Pharaoh. Heaviest bass tone ever.
I'm going to try to put out a 12" comp soon so if any of you guys wanna be in on it hit me up through a pm or email me at divinemotherrecordings [at] gmail dot com

For reference the amp on top is a different 120 watt build - I got my self a whole lotta amp.
I like the Idea of that texas amp flipped upside down, it will have to be taller to accommodate the KT-88's so you'll get more visible badass grillcloth. I'd say black tolex with black corners, and a light colored piping that matches one of the colors in the vox grillcloth diamonds. I think that would be pretty tasty.

M-F between 8am and 5pm EST..... no i don't have a life outside of the internet.... outside of that timeframe you'll notice I don't post anywhere near as much.
It's all good my friend, and ye its one of my fav bass fuzzes and this is the second one I've had but with the big spider its not getting as much usage as it used too. Depending on the deals I strike this weekend I might not have to sell it but we'll see.
Yes, Yes it does.

I can't say anything, I'm either on here or playing guitar and then when my son comes home from school I'm with him. It all keeps me happy though.

Cool. They have no poll-pieces like an EGC and EMG pickup. I love that look.

Woah, that is fantastic designing. Even your PCB layouts are the shit. But what are those little clear fuse-like things? They look like miniature triode tubes.

They did play the Paramount. Such a classic venue. Going to see Soundgarden there in a couple of weeks.
You guys can revoke my doom room card at any time.

Nothing wrong with Soundgarden. I grew up on that shit.

I have only played it through the Bassman so far. It sounds fucking righteous through the Bassman so i can only assume it will be fucking crushing through the Marshall. Will let you know once I have given it a whirl. Will do some recordings at practice.

The large clear ones are NOS Ge Diodes, 1n34. They are made out of glass and can be fragile.

live-i-evil wrote:Just sent you an e-mail over, getting you paid and figuring out how I want the amp to look.
Which brings you lot in, I could use some suggestions on how I want my Dunwich to look. I really wanna use dark Vox diamond grill cloth and have kind of a classic looking design. Any ideas? I was thinking something like this

But flipped upside down and with a taller head cab, so there's a little more diamond grill cloth. And then in the middle of the grill cloth the Dunwich badge like on Shannon's amp here:

I was thinking Black tolex and light piping but I could be swayed otherwise. Any suggestions dudes? Stained? Different colors? Fonts for faceplate? All good questions.
I like the diamond grill cloth a lot, but I wouldn't want the head to be too high and contain too much material without breaking it up with a large Dunwich logo centred in the middle. I think the best looking amps are the ones with definitive lines and breaks in the flow, so to speak. Because the diamonds present quite a statement, I'd stick to a darker tolex, something classic like black or a dark navy blue.
For fonts, go to dafont.com and browse the different sections. I'd suggest something classy from the Script menu.
