This is a really long shot, but you think you'd be able to get it on a plane to europe? Sunn stuff is crazy hard to come by here and equally crazy expensive when it does. If shipping isn't too high, this might be worth it. No problem if you don't want to deal with all the hassle though!

only issue with those heads is that they are kinda long. that makes shipping more and finding a box harder. and IMO Sunn amps sound cool but they're really nothing amazing at least in my experience. they're only cool if they're cheap. they have the value thing going but that's really it. If you're gonna fork over $100 for shipping I wouldn't use it towards a Sunn personally

makes finding a box harder? Am I the only one that can just easily cut up 2 boxes to make a single one? I always thought when anyone said that is funny. It's not in the least bit difficult to cut and tape and it ends up being stronger than a single box.

Thanks for the input! I'm just so damn curious about these and still think the price would be okay. Although $100 in shipping is alot, it would still end up at 330 euros total. So considering most music gear costs more in euros here than it does in dollars in the US it'd still be a decent deal + easy to flip if I don't like it (to compare: a Mascis Jazzmaster costs 399 dollars (=290 euros) on Musiciansfriend while it costs 429 euros to order one from the cheapest retailer in Europe).
I really do appreciate that you're talking me out of it though, I don't know if I need more amps actually. I'm just so curious about old SS gear. SO. DAMN. CURIOUS.

I don't blame you at all, I was curious myself! but I feel like more or less you get what you pay for. I also think their design and aesthetic appeal don't help the gas stop.
Yeah I'm a box noob. I fucking hate arts and crafts and cutting and taping stuff. I'm bad at it and it hurts my brain
I probably couldn't take two boxes and make a bigger one.

$780 for a 240 watt tube head with all the vintage goodies inside.....
Your way more common Earth or plush twin reverb clones go for around $300. And that's a good value for price there. I could see paying twice that for this. Where else are you going to get something equivalent for less? There are not that many 200+ watt options out there and most of them are well known and command high prices.
As long as this thing has been sitting, I bet they would be willing to come down a bit more for someone with cash in hand. I'd make a play for it except they don't want to ship and I'm on the other coast.

Yeah, the design aesthetic surely helps fueling my curiosity!
Boxing stuff is all about the amount of tape. With enough tape and some cardboard, I can make anything look like a box

Anti, the story is that it was delivered to the music store, and sat there and never sold. The store closed years ago and I think this is being sold through an estate sale manager. It probably saw use in store before being buried under other stuff. If it was priced at the original sale point I can understand why it never sold there.
Downside. It's really fucking old, likely will need recap and possibly some reisitors swapped out. It's not good for amps to sit.
Upside. All the hardware and transformers should be in great shape, little work and a solid monster amp for under a g.
Why am I trying to talk someone into it?
So I don't try to get it. I have to many amps and projects as it is.
Obulus, that amp will be a loud clean solid state pedal platform. I cant say for sure that it's worth all the trouble but the ry guy is a solid dude, if it's a deal in the euro market after all that, why not.
