Black Forest into Pharaoh is a really solid combo. This is why I had Mark make me one. POG2 into that for super sludge tone.
The cab sim on the Bigsky is not 2 bad. Its not the best cab simulator out there but its pretty good.
Still experimenting with the modulation on the mobius

Can't say that I do. Boomy can be cured sometimes by either tightening up the woodwork in the cab itself or if that is fine, adding some insulation can give it a tighter sound. 10's tend to have a very tight sound to me, makes me wonder if there is an issue with the cab, You can take a clamp and tighten down the individual panels without opening it up. . Barring possession of large enough clamps I'd start with making sure all the screws are tight and that the wood they are bearing into is not stripped. If the are some CA glue and toothpicks will provide new material for them to bite into.
Cab's solid as a brick (more like a boulder actually; fuckers heavy), and I've never heard anything rattling around so I'm not sure if thats it. It does have the super big ports on the bottom though. Cutting the bass on my stingray and dialing back the boost on my amp seems to help a lot as well.
AngryGoldfish wrote: I've used modern sounding cabinets in the past, but vintage models can be boomy too. It depends on the amp. It could be your amp that's booming too much for you. I know the modern Orange amps I've tried were way too boomy.
I'm kinda betting its this. The GK has a lot of smooth bottom end that I'm betting when I run a lot of bass heavy fuzz it's just to much .
awesome signature with witty quotes from all you fuckers :)

The first time Om played in Boston the sound dudes had to physically eject them from the stage, bros coming up on stage and turning off amps and such.

hahaha that rules. I seriously think if the venue staff had done that in melbourne they wouldn't've gotten out of there alive. Too many angry doom bogans.

OK, I think I will attempt to make my Halloween costume out of PBR armor like the prehistoric dogs vid via Red Fang. I might go the easy route and do the cardboard cases in place of the cans, but we'll see.

Yeah, Om doesn't really bring out the bogans as much as the heads/scene brahs and sahs. At least, early on. Esp. in New England, where the HXC RULES ALL THAT IS METAL.

I don't really like boomy amplifiers. I used to love that sound, but I've gone off it now. I prefer something drier, looser, and warmer. If you've tried a Matamp you'll maybe know that they have this 'sit in the back' kind of thing going on. They cut through and everything, but they just feel... distant. It's a cool vibe that's hard to explain and is definitely something you have to experience to understand. But with the wrong cabinet, even they can project the lows in awkward and unpleasing ways, so it's not just the amp.

In honor of how stoked I am to have found this forum this year, all the great advice and encouragement received, and all the rad people i've met here, here is a promo code good for all time for anyone that finds this here for 30% off of anything on our bandcamp.

Promo: thedoomroom

We currently only have pre-orders up for limited Tapes and CDs, Tapes should be ready by Novembers end, CDs should be ready by mid December.

After that we will get to printing shirts and the fun stuff, so if that's more your schtick you can save it for that.

The Doom Review is going pretty well, I have signed on another writer that agrees with the goal and guidelines that should have one up tonight, talking with a few others as well. Just put one up today of Curse the Son, damn was that a cool album!

Haha so bitchin! We are kind of the same deal, since you guys are "initiated", just be forewarned, you order a Tape or anything for that matter, and it won't be the only thing you receive

I got a digital copy. I put in the doom room code in case you can track whether the code has been used or not. I gave you 5$ anyway because it's totally worth it.
Thanks for spreading the good vibes anyway.
