This is a collaborative effort between my primary band (Quiet Things) and my on-and-off side project (Daze of Resistance). Though it's looking like in the near future the two are just gonna punch each other into a bloody pulp until we're one big happy family, under the Quiet Things banner.
If you happen to enjoy this particular piece, we'll be playing a (much modified, because we're still tweaking the fuck out of it) version live in Portland, OR, should you live in the area, next month.

To celebrate our upcoming show with fellow ILFer univalve we have actually (sorta) finished a couple of new songs. This is one of them.
Shitty recording, iphone, practice space, sloppy playing, some things were not yet clear to everybo... to me, yada yada.
I thinks it pretty damn badass nonetheless.

My new band just finished our first track, this is just a rough recording from practice with an SM57 but you get the idea.
Would love to hear what you guys think of it! (I'm the guitarist)

Some random things I thought when hearing this:
I would like it better with vocals, to give a sort of emotional guidance.
I love the guitar line right before breaks 2 & 3.
Before the end when you hear that clicking sound - is that a pedal? Anyway, make the rest of your band snap their fingers at those exact points.

I'm gonna play some stuff from this thread on my show tonight, if that's cool with everyone. I won't play anything that says "work in progress" or anything else that you might not be comfortable having broadcast, but if it says "this is a new one from my band" or whatever, then I'll consider it fair game. Listen in from 10 to midnight tonight and every Sunday on www.WGXC.org and hey, if you just sold something on the B/S/T maybe think about making a small pledge cuz we're in fund drive mode!

Thanks for the feedback!
We'd consider adding vocals but none of us are singers, don't really want to force it if none of us feel comfortable doing so
I'm trying to write more melodic songs to achieve a similar effect, too much of the guitar and piano material is chords and arpeggiated patterns so far
Clicking is pedals yeah haha, I'll definitely try the snapping thing!

Dude, that song is super good. Like, hurt my face good.
If you ever want vocals hit me up and I'll lay some for you, which you can either use or laugh at a lot. I mostly sing metal (which is exactly the sound you guys are after hahaha), but I can do most things with varying degrees of success.
Personally, I don't think you need vox - that song was rad.

This lurker is posting again.
Here's an acoustic junt I made. There's no fuzz to speak of. Just me and the trusty seagull
