I need to do some reading up on mods for the Mikrophonie, because this idea is extremely appealing to me as well...MrNovember wrote:I'm thinking about grabbing one and modding the shit out of my current Mikrophonie

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I haven't seen too many crazy mods for it; I've just seen someone who had drilled a hole in the center of the circle and attached a spring there. I'm thinking about doing something similar, but with old guitar strings like Folktek's Gardens. I'm also tempted to attach some metal tines to it like a Kalimba.fever606 wrote:I need to do some reading up on mods for the Mikrophonie, because this idea is extremely appealing to me as well...MrNovember wrote:I'm thinking about grabbing one and modding the shit out of my current Mikrophonie
Also I happened to have some money left over in PayPal so I've got an Ears on the way. I also have a Basimilus Iteritas Alter on the way too. And Pretty Years and hopefully a Bitquest. Shit this is a good month

Ears sounds pretty rad.
Do you have a way to interface the Gristle with your modular setup? Highly recommended if you do.

Ok. I'm officially in. In a small way. Just bought a vco and a vcf. Waiting to hear back from a guy about a case. Call me a scrub or the worst kind of noob, but I'm looking at getting mostly Intellijel pieces insofar as I can find them used at a decent price. Not only do they seem quite nice from a beginner's perspective, since the catalogue is so deep, but it also eases nagging (possibly fictitious, in my head) interoperability concerns while getting started. I can't afford to build my ideal synth, but am happy to get the ball rolling.

Literally all of eurorack is built on interoperability.Dark Barn wrote:Ok. I'm officially in. In a small way. Just bought a vco and a vcf. Waiting to hear back from a guy about a case. Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Well, I'll have to spruce it up if guests are coming over.
But mostly Intellijel, with a MN Maths and Optimix, an Endorphin.es Shuttle Control, an ES Disting, and maybe a *gulp* Modcan Touch sequencer... but for a sequencer I'll probably have to try a few, or maybe even just run it from DAW, undecided... eventually want to have two full voices so I can get gnarly with my Linnstrument. Don't care about drums at all for my build.
Edit: in my defense I have come across a few rare gripes of certain modules not cooperating well regarding expected and received gate and trigger voltages. To keep myself focused on the practicable fringes of my naïveté I decided to not read up on those sorts of issues and get a few Intellijel pieces, and then worry about the rest later.

No, I have! When I said I'll have to spruce it up I meant figuratively. I have two guest accounts there, one for my phone one for my laptop. I should make a real account so they match up.D.o.S. wrote:Wait have you not taken the plunge into Modular Grid yet? You totally should.
