Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
TJ inspired me to take some minor positive action in organizing a nation/worldwide drone session. If you do the fakebook game you can keep up to date here:
http://www.facebook.com/events/1427118987509442/
Description:
Lets start 2014 right by getting as many people with bass and guitar amplifiers to plug in at 6:30pm PST on January 1st and drone the lowest possible note your instrument will reach. Proceed to drone until 6:40 or however long after you would like, THE LOUDER THE BETTER! Practice amps are alright too, every watt counts!
You may have heard of mass meditations, similar principal...LET THERE BE DOOM!
Fun Ideas:
1. Everyone capable of taking a recording during this section, please do so! afterwards I will mix them all down to one 10 minute drone track with as many tracks as are sent in.
2. Take a video with a timestamp showing your rig droning and post to the page afterward, custom "Mass Shreditation 2014" patches will be screened and sent out to all those taped.
Share this around if you feel so inclined, lets get as many people in on this as possible!

Fuck yeah, thanks for the support guys! Hoping this will inspire a few low-volume bedroom jammers with beastly rigs to crank to 11 if only for a few minutes.

The right set on the blonde are the best. They look real enough to me, or maybe they were just done better than half the porn stars out there today.Iommic Pope wrote:Yes...she caught my eyes also...

I feel like I've struck up a theme lately....no idea what it could be though....
I always lose favour in movie debates when I say this, but I'm amongst friends so I'll say it: The Matador is one of my favourite movies ever. It's in my top 50 for sure. I adore the characters, the story and its themes, and have watched it so many times now yet it still makes me feel better in every way. That ending always catches me off guard, as does EVERYTHING else in the movie.D.o.S. wrote:That's Pierce Brosnan in The Matador.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Last night was freaking awesome, decent turnout for a show we had only one day notice for and with one of the better local bands also playing that night, some of the people we normally see were already doing that.
Holy Grove kicked ass and you could tell the crowd was into it. They are looking to record soon and I'm pretty sure that's something relevant to DR interests.
Ancient Warlocks is always freaking awesome. They sold out the album already! When they get another pressing done you guys should jump on it quick!
Sorry Olympia, you guys missed out
Good to see Tacoma getting such kickass bands even if it is a default situation.
This morning I am totally exhausted. I really hope we can get on more bills like that where the music all fits and segues into the next band so smoothly.

Has anyone here played Jazzmasters for Sludge and heavier styles? I'm having a massive Jazzmaster GAS attack.

Goldfish, there is always dinosaur jr. that uses jazzmasters with all that fuzz. He doesn't really down tune I don't think but if he did then he would be right there for sludgy jazzmasterness.
Got to meet ryan summit at the brooklyn stompbox exhibit. As cool in real life as he is in here. Really makes me want to have a doom room meet up for everyone sometime. Maybe with that show in the woods if we can make it happen.
I also got the shipment notification for my bigsky. Excited for that. But I got to play with a timeline at the exhibit today and now I kinda want one of those. It would be really cool if I can hook it up with midi to the bigsky. I really liked the dbucket mode. And the slice was super cool. But I don't like the cost.

The dBucket mode doesn't get as much love as the other algorithms, but I think it sounds awesome. I haven't tried the TimeLine version, but the Brigadier was a really nice delay.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
At the show they had a whole strymon board, so I got to try a bunch of them. Brigadier was one of them. As I said before the dbucket mode is pretty cool. I liked the blue sky too, which is great because i'm getting the bigsky. I also got to try out the new moog pedals which were cool but nothing really jumped out at me. My bass player went mainly for the moog and specifically for the delay. But he left just wanting to get the big moog delay. Fuzzrocious was there and he was super cool to chat with briefly. Between my bass player and I we enjoyed the ram the manparts pedal and we got some crazy feedback with all the switches on the demon pedal.
In other news I also just put some push pull pots in my agile. One for split coil and the other for master parallel/series. The split sounds cool but I need to play with the series/parallel more once I adjust the pickup heights, since I also just put new screws in to adjust the pickups to their proper heights. I may need to put more foam for the bridge pickup.

I like having the split option, lets me tighten things up when needed, so basically I hardly use it either
Woods jam DR meetup would be so badass. Last night we had Darren, Copeland, Roadbull and myself and as a really cool added bonus, Magic was rolling with the Ancient Warlocks crowd. Very cool to meet him, really a very nice guy.
Getting the whole crowd together would present some logistical issues as ideally rigs would be at a minimum, available in quantity's so that everyone would have at least 200 watts and multiple cabs.
