In other news the new russian circles has leaked and it is killer. I have the vinyl on its way in the mail and I am super excited about it. Not very doomy but I think it is killer:

As a drummer, I dig this band quite a bit. Dave Turncrantz fits that group really well. He can lean into his kit, or play very subtle pieces. It all sounds nice.
Check the how to drone thread if you have not already.

Fuck yes! The tone, the song, everything. Fuck yeah. Is that EGC / Tb freaking gigantic or is he a smaller dude?
It's a regular German made all wood Travis Bean. The bass is Jeff Mantz' old First Act..

The Wood Wizard wrote:( have the regular bluesky and its great. That new one looks sweet though. If you use a lot of different delay id say go for it. otherwise the regular bluesky can do damn near all of that on its own and is also stereo.
The bluesky is one of the greatest reverbs. I have it and the el cap on my board. The big sky has me looking cause i could kill with all those different options. I love reverb. SO MUCH

Wow are those TB's really that big? Looks as if it would actually appear to be normal size on me.

Danke!!! Pretty sweet phaser, I haven't tried to many but none that I've had have gone that slow.

I'm pretty sure Beans are standard 25.5" scale if I'm not mistaken

8 seconds per cycle? don't most new phasers do that? i think the whetstone does like a minute..

when i had my grand orbiter on the slowest mode i'd sometimes wonder if it was on somewhere there in the middle - since the LED went on and off to the beat as well it was sometimes left on because i thought it was off
i think that was around 8 seconds too.
Like I said I haven't tried many phasers so maybe I'm just out of touch hahaha I had a Grand Orbiter as well and it could go really slow but took over the signal in an unpleasant way, I could never get it dialed in right no matter what I did and never seemed to sound the same twice.

im def prepping for the Bigsky. Slight rearrangement of pedal board to fit that in if I wanted it. Plenty of gear to unload to get it to.

Well obv the Bluesky but I have a few other pedals floating around. A custom Oxfuzz Ge 2 I could offload. Also the TB will be sold off once it ends

In that case who ever is the last to have the tourbox can go ahead and just send the da120 OD on over to my house..... there won't be a need for it to go back to nick.... ;)

haha best of luck buying that one. Yea to combined income from that and anything I sell off before hand I can easily get that pedal and still fund the DA150

Yeah man, I'm excited about it. I hope that it'll open some doors for me as far as exposure and promotion (for the band too, but they are already their own press machine so I don't know how much I will actually help them in the exposure dept).

Awesome! Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a copy of both.

Next thing you know you'll be a big shot record executive
Sweet, if it all times out right with the pressing plants I'm going to do a package deal for them both. I got the artwork from Jean and the layout is pretty sweet. Its gonna look as badass as they sound. Record executive.... more like broke and divorced. My wife is pretty supportive about both releases so far, but once I tell her how much cash I'm dropping, especially right before our wedding anniversary, she will shit bricks.
ridingeternity wrote: Fancy that...I just booked Shroudeater and Orbweaver to play in the general area that I lay my head.

Used to be super cool walking into shows with openers I had never heard and being blown away, and I mean I have had the experience of being introduced to bands via booking that absolutely kill and I may not have found otherwise...

But so far, Shroudeater takes the cake!
Thats cool that you booked them. They are planning on touring pretty hard next year. I remember the first time I ever heard of them my buddy's band did a show with us and he had a Shroud eater shirt on. I asked him about it and then forgot all about them. Found them one day browsing through bandcamp and was fucking floored. There are a few bands that I'd love to put their shit out just to have a vinyl version (lots in this thread) but this is the first one that the stars lined up. Having another label going in to help copress helped a lot with that.
dazedbyday wrote:Hey guys,

Don't know if you have seen but strymon is coming out with a reverb box. I think I might need to snag it and rearrange my board a bit when it comes out. I seriously have a reverb problem.

http://www.strymon.net/bigsky/

I have seen a few of you guys using strymon pedals before, what do you guys think of the ones you got? I haven't had one form the company before.
I had an El Cap. Sounded great, but I really fell in love with the reverb on it more than the delay. As far as my setup and what I do, when I ran it side by side with my DE7, I found that the DE7 sounded just as good, if not better (especially with higher gain). The only thing that I liked better was the tap tempo option on the El Cap. I would really like to check out the reverbs from them though.

Well I can say that Mark and Sonny wont be buying the DA120OD since Sonny already has one coming and Mark is not in buying mode.
