And in other news...anyone ever go through a peaceful divorce and have kids in the mix? Seems the wife filed yesterday. Been a rocky road for awhile now but we are aiming for peace and not blood. Is this even possible?
Forget WHY you separated andtreat each other like humans and acquaintances, because as hard as it is to hear that's what you are now, except with shared children. ignore your past and live in the present. I'm saying this from someone who grew up in a divided household. Because of Irish laws and my parents' inability to communicate rationally, peacefully and patiently, it has taken them seven years to divorce. It was a nightmare for my mum. Communicate thoroughly and calmly.
I'm really sorry to hear you're separating, mate. Do the best you can.

This. I will be looking for a new delay for board two at some point in the next year - this will be high on the list.
I'm also selling my EQD Pulse Machine. Just don't use trem that much and have been tempted by a cab locally that I need to raise funds for. Putting it in B/S/T, but hit me up if you are interested.

Thanks for the support guys. I come from a solid family, parents still married and all that so all of this is foreign territory. She was the product of a nasty divorce between her parents so hopefully she learned from that and will choose to remain civil. That's our goal at least and this is a mutual thing. She filed because I lacked the balls to pull the plug. Lol. I've heard so many horror stories which is what prompted the initial question. Again. Thanks so much for the support.

A lot of the divorce stuff also depends on the age of the kids. My parents divorced when I was 1 and I've seen my dad maybe 3 or 4 times after that (I'm 39) but I have no memory of what he even looks like. There are times where it bugs me that I didn't have a dad but it wasn't that big of a deal. My mom remarried years later and when she divorced my step-dad, my brother and sister were 11 and 12 and it devastated them. They're just about 30 and still fucked up from it. It was a really nasty divorce, a lot of both parents using the kids to get back at each other. I ended up taking care of my brother for a few years while I was in college and I tried to take my sister too but she was too angry at her dad especially so she was a runaway for a couple of years. I'm a high school teacher and divorces at that age just seem to be either really terrible or almost no issue at all depending on how the parents handle it and how much of a shock it is to the kids. I went through a weird divorce but it was totally mutual and I was relieved that someone else wanted to take her crazy ass off my hands, but thankfully we had no kids (one of the major issues with the divorce, I never want kids). I've also known a lot of folks that were much happier and better parents after a divorce which seems to be a more modern thing. They can raise some really well adjusted kids.

My kids are 3 and 5. We both accept the role and necessity of the other parent in their life so there will be no bs (hopefully) in that regard. And with their young age they will adapt well.
Sorry to have turned the doom room into divorce court. Haha. But you guys have helped to set my mind at ease while providing sound advice.
Ryan, I'm a bit scared to hear your tale. Lol.

Hey man that's one of the things I love about this place. We are all here for the music but everyone is always willing to lend an ear and a kind word along with some advice when needed.
I don't always go on about it but lifes dealt me some curveballs the last few years. You guys have helped me get through it all sometimes just by being up to the usual awesome shenanigans.
Ryan has a tail? Do tell
