Damn, that sucks, Clifton. $1900 is a lot of money to let go of. The car must have needed quite a bit of work. For some vehicles and situations it's cheaper to just buy a new one entirely. I have a friend who when his car requires repairs to pass the NCT (National Car Test for Ireland) so it can be legally driven on the road, and those repairs cost over half of what his car cost him to buy, he'll basically look for a new one that has two years before the next NCT. It's cost-effective and means you get to try new cars. It's hassle for someone like my mum who has paid more into her car in the way of repairs and servicing than she did in the actual cost of it outright, but for someone like my friend it's not really a problem.

Can't multiquote on this phone. The front differential on the 4WD broke in half a few months ago when I was pulling up a bunch of trees in my back yard. it bent the frame and busted the air intake. The original bill was $2,200 but I went and showed my ass and got them to lower it to $1,877.44. Still higher than the original quote but I figured it to end up at the 18 mark anyway. Sucks because this all happened about 2 weeks after the 6 month warranty ran out and Polaris wouldn't honor it. The dealership submitted my claim 3 times and got rejected every time.:(

I'm glad we don't have that kind of thing to worry about over here in the states.

The money that I was going to snag that Sunn with would have came out of the cash I had set to the side to pay for that bastard.

Damn thats rough Clifton. My wifes goddamn volvo likes to have similar bills. I've finally got her on board with getting rid of it. Replacing a stupid O2 sensor costs more than what I have in the bands van for crying out loud! I'll stick to my old rusty crust cars for myself. I can fix those with a hammer and a multitool. New shit..... not so much. fuck computers. give me a carburetor any day. Emissions gear? nope, dont need that, rip it out and toss it :)
Even from an environmental standpoint the carbon footprint from keeping an old car running is WAAAAAY less than what it takes to create a new "environmentally friendly" car. I actually get pretty good mileage out of the G20 van now that I have it tuned up and running well. 1976, cost $700, and it's gotten a new battery, air filter, spark plugs, oil change, heater core. about $200 worth of stuff. love that thing.

I should have t-shirts in hand tomorrow. :yay:

We are going with two color schemes. Our friend Sean from Stereo Creeps did the artwork. I dig. :thumb:

Nostradoomus wrote:Moose, when you say splitting and gutting your Mace...is it a combo? I got one too and I'm giving it the chop, making it.into a head and throwing the Black Widows in my blown ass Mesa cab. Post progress shots :doom:
It's already split from combo to a head a while back. Now I'm gonna split the power and pre amp and use the iron and stuff from the power section to build a new amp. Been wanting to build an amp for a while and this works out cheaper than selling the mace here and buying new iron, especially so as it'd need retubing before selling. The SS pre amp is running on +/- 15V so getting a new power supply in there will be pretty cheap and then I can use that with a separate power amp I have or as a standalone pre...

Yeah, I was tempted to tell them to leave the 4WD out of it since I've only used it two or three times since I got it. A come along and some chain will get you unstuck for a hell of a lot less money. The only thing is though that I didn't wanna be making payments on something that isn't 100% functional as the day I bought it. New gear days will be commencing though as soon as I can sell / trade this HOG. Wallet be empty still, but hopefully the gear gods will be merciful and let me find the two pedals I'm looking for soon.

Guest vocals on 'Dawn Rising'? That's a badass track.
