Saw that in my FB news feed. That's fucking crazy. It's like doom thematic material in physical form.

Reading over the last 5 or 6 pages, it seems like the world just isn't a good place to live right now. I wish you guys all the best. I've been battling another bout of depression the past few weeks; what troubles me is that there's been no particular trigger. I'm on meds and I'm fairly social, but nothing has been seeming to sooth it. I've been listening to a lot of music too, but I literally just sat down with my guitar and played for the first time in almost a month. Playing doesn't seem to help much either. I haven't been "feeling" my music in quite a while. I've even been taking a credited guitar class for my senior year of uni, and although I'm learning a lot I'm still struggling to convince myself to practice.

But, like most everyone else, there has been some positivity going around. My buddy and I will finally have access to a drum kit, so hopefully we'll be able to actually write something worth while soon. That and my artwork is finally starting to take a direction. Back home I have piece that's being featured in a new gallery and it doesn't cost me anything!

Here's a few things that have been helping me get through the days:

This is probably my favorite CoL album too.

These fit my more aggressive moods.
For some people they can just flip a switch and stop being miserable. They can go for a walk, get drunk, have sex with someone they love, etc. and they're happy again. For the rest of us, though, it's a lot more complex. Sometimes doing the things you love cheers you up, but sometimes it doesn't. Just keep your head above water. That's the only thing you can do at times. Once the tide goes out a bit and you can see dry land, then you can do the things you love and be happy doing them.

I know that feeling. I have to drive 3 and a half hours to see a band, and that's if they even bother their asses coming to Ireland.

That is an awesome tagline.

Went to a "metal show" tonight with some of my wife's work friends. A place we played before and I liked. Kinda lame though. At least she was having fun and enjoyed being there. I'm trying to convert her to the heavys but it's not something i can push. She like jazz. smooth smooth jazz

A year ago today was my last day at a job I'd worked for 13 years. It was also the last day at that company for a friend. He's spent the past year building a distillery in downtown Seattle and it opens today. I haven't done much with the past year but I'm gonna hit the distillery and soothe my feelings of inadequacy with massive amounts of liquor.

Sorry to hear about everyone having rough weeks. It really sucks that life occasionally decides to pile as much as possible on our proverbial plates just to see how and if we can handle it.
conky wrote: Thanks man. I'm just using a stock TR2. On that part though I run a patch off of my Timefactor that emulates a modulated reverb (until I get another Ghost Echo) with the trem.
Trem into verb is the best. I really want to try out Mr Black's new trem/verb pedal. I'm probably also going to put my Pulse Machine in b/s/t since I've never used any trem as well or as often as I did my old TR-2. Guess I had to be a boutiquey doucher about it for a while before I figured that out :idk:

If it came in black, my credit card would be in some serious trouble.

They need to do an east coast tour!!!!!
This.

My wife is a nurse, so we went to the smaller exhibit in Myrtle Beach a couple of years ago. I didn't realize that the bodies were not behind glass or roped off in any way. It was literally just us and all those dead bodies in there. That was the closest I've ever come to having a full on panic attack. After a bit I calmed down and could enjoy it - especially one where the head was open and the cross sectioned the brain, which was extremely cool.

Bass boar, where are you taking it? I forgot if you are in the pnw or not but if you are hit me up about the guy I went to. Just awesome near ocd quality work for a very reasonable fee. The guy actually re did some stuff I had done because it was'nt pretty enough and didn't even charge me for that.

Got some sweet stuff yesterday. Hall of Fame reverb and an Ibanez Echo Shifter, and picking up 2 eminence legends today for my busted ass Mesa Cab. Going to X pattern them with 2 Black Widows and run my Mace through that. I can't wait for jam on Sunday. :doom:

Thanks for the sentiment man. But I'm in central Canada.
So yeah......
Anywho.
My pedalboard is starting to fill up, what a weird feeling, having no more space.
