The theater was pretty empty when I went to see it. I wish there were more Sci-fi movies like this. It seems that sci-fi went for explosions years ago whereas the genre's roots are big ideas/thoughts. I hope this movie will inspire directors to push towards thinking sci-fi. Definitely check out Ex Machina. That's another one of my favourite film. It has a pretty great soundtrack too

Did y'all catch the trailer for Annihilation pre: BR2049? Alex Garland's next movie... thought the trailer looked pretty fantastic. The book was pretty bizarre and frankly more esoteric than plot driven, but definitely still really good. I still need to finish the rest of the series, wonder how much they'll incorporate from those into the film.

Side note: square wave foghorn with tons of reverb is the new "IN A WORLD" of movie trailers. Self-parody's pretty much achieved.

I loved Ex Machina, but the blonde haired main character pissed me off so much.

Yeah, it was awesome. I love movies with properly loathsome "protagonists". Every human in that film sucked, it was beautiful.

The cinematography.
The costuming and design.


It wasn’t perfect, but be fucked if it wasn’t close.

It danced the tightrope. So many things could have gone wrong, but they nailed it.

Saw it yesterday and I really enjoyed it. The ending was just a *bit* too.. I don’t know.. precise, for my tastes? But it was still satisfying.

My Boss is giving me a day off work on my Birthday on Wednesday. Going to treat myself and see it again, can't wait.

went to see it yesterday and it was pretty good.

the soundtrack, the costumes and the cinematography were awesome, but some plot elements (and one actor) felt a bit unneccessary, pointless and dumb. maybe they would've worked better if this was made as a mini series or something and had had more time to develop those things. but yeah. i'm glad they made this and hope they won't feel the need to make a disappointing third act or a video game.

Man, I hated Ex Mechina.

Partly because it wasn’t a Deus Ex movie. Mostly because it was an over dramatized Turing test. The shooty one with the blonde chick was better.

They should've cast John Mayer in the Officer K role.

I think Ryan Gosling and the whole movie was great. I'm seeing it again on Tuesday
