If they're curious enough (or imperialistic enough), though, there's probably a halfway decent chance they'd consider sending something to check out what the hell's sending those bursts of radio waves.
That's reasonable, but there's so many variables and assumptions involved in that topic. Not the least of which is capability. Maybe there are intelligent, evolved lifeforms on other planets and their technology is completely different than ours or their senses or the way they think and process patterns. Maybe there's a society on another planet that's exactly like us, but they're 100 light years away and we're not going to get a message back from them for another 50-100 years.

There's some good science fiction stories about humans encountering alien life and just so many of our assumptions are way off. Communications that are so far away from verbal communication we don't even understand them or recognize the source, societies that discover technology that allows for faster than light travel, but not electricity or radio. Languages that are based on cognition that's so different than the human brain it can't be translated into anything coherent. Systems of mathematics that don't relate to ours at all and the other species assumes is universal). I like thinking about that stuff, even if it's kind of bummer from a narrative point of view, because the TNG model of alien life and communication has more opportunity for fun and adventure.

Have you ever read the Saucer series?
It touches on all this stuff in a way that seems incredibly reasonable (I won't spoil it if you haven't read it, but they include answers to these questions in the context of the story).

One cool solution to Fermi's paradox I've read recently suggests that the aliens might be aestivating to be more efficient with technology:

jrfox is perpetuating a myth, space travel is impossible and "aliens" are dimensional travelers....i.e. humans from the future...man is infinitely great!
all I read is someone ate cake and got an idea..........

Please explain a cohesive, factual, mathematical breakdown on how time travel is 100% possible.

one thing is, you wont make use of it, nor will the information change your life, for there would be more to play out then you would know without something from the beyond allowing a demonstration that is a gift not to be shared...words can not describe there is no such thing as time, you want a bunch of numbers to make you feel important? im not spilling the beans on this thread....catch me in a future podcast....point is dimensional travel not time travel....everything that is, has been played out in one big slide show, all of our lives has already been done, the earth is just being born and it is gone.. im typing and your reading, breathing, thinking, feeling is not for you but the name within all names and without...the trick is transmutation which deals with bio vibrations mixing micro(inside) and macro(outside) in theatrical church style which the meta verse allows complete transcendence after life times of struggle(death). what you want me to do post a bunch of quotes and links...scientists are silly apes that set names to things only comprehended by simple tricks made solely by apes for apes to apes. one perk about dimensional travel is you dont need a body nor technology nor mind...and a pseudo way of describing it would be an astral projection threw the simulation. you must die to be reborn...nothing is true everything is permitted, selah. slides, the slip enter the slip. death/dimensions/pulse is any form of action really movement to one "moving" (slipping threw) without a 3d substance?

you must earn it. threw and beyond expansion and contraction, as is below is as above, a new life earned in non existence within all existing.
