 :grumpy:

Thanks, Mudfuzz, yeah, I'm not sure if I wanna bother the landlord for this or do it myself. I don't wanna spend that much money on it, but I also don't want high heating bills this winter.

It's a hundred year old brick building. Pretty sure there's no proper vapor barrier. So, I'm not expecting it to be airtight. If I'm getting this much of a draft this early in the cold season though, I know it's gonna be a bigger problem later.

I think I might use your recommendation of a marine sealant. That sounds like a good enough solution to me. Thank you.

no prob :thumb: also.. if you use it.. it works the opposite as everything else out there in terms or drying conditions.. the catalyst only unlocks in humid conditions so you want to might want to dampen around the area a bit, nothing extreme, we'd usually toss a damp rag in the general vicinity :idk: it will dry no matter what, we are just talking a day vs a week..

Thanks again. I was wondering if environmental conditions might effect the drying time. It's gonna drop down below freezing tonight and it's supposed to be even a little chillier tomorrow night. I'll see what they suggest at the store as far as application goes. (Hopefully I don't need no fancy breathing apparatus.)

I don't remember it giving off much vapors but it's been a long time and compared to all the other crap I was using at the time which was very toxic

I need to head to the hardware store and I need some more advice.

So, today I shut my windows and locked 'em. Just now I walked over to one of the windows to look outside. Felt draft. Looked under the sill.

There's like an eighth inch gap. Whoever put in these windows did an extremely shitty job. Which is even more disappointing because my landlord owns a construction company.

I need something to fill that gap. :D Seriously. Not looking forward to a drafty winter. Gonna do something about it.

Anyone got any suggestions for what to use to seal up the space between the sheetrock and the wood of the sill?
Pics? Can you see through to the outside?

(No pics. I still can't find the cable to my camera.)

It's not that bad. I can't see daylight. It still hasn't gotten that cold around here yet either. So, there's not much of a draft.

I haven't sealed everything up yet. I was gonna maybe do it tomorrow. Obviously, it's not a big priority until it starts getting cold out. I just wanna make sure that all my heat doesn't escape when it's freezing outside. Not gonna pay to heat a drafty apartment.

Maybe a good place to ask this.

My tools have been displaced, mostly drills drivers and such,

I hate having them out and about and was storing them all in an old dresser, which my wife has claimed for one of the kids.

Thinking of getting a giant tool box to put everything in, I have hand tools in their own bag now but even then they get mixed up and stolen (my son likes to claim things for his tool bag) anyone using a giant tool storage system?

When I need to go somewhere with tools I can just take the bag and load it with what I actually need.

Thoughts?
