One run won't make you better, but it sure as shit can put you out of commission for days/weeks with an injury.

Ran that 5k in 19:31. Got smoked by some youngsters but that's fine- feelin good.
Son of a bitch! That's flying!

Gotta get my 5k game on.
I figure I'm going to do strength training, and 5k training for the hell of it during the off season (so to speak...) and then start training for the Stockholm Marathon after New Year. Never run a marathon so I'm pretty excited.

I've done zero speed training for months and I feel like I should make that my winter goal (particularly because running for a long time in winter is often terrible so I might as well do something quick and useful  )

Thanks dude, yeah, the guy who won was flying (18:30 maybe??), I was dragging the last 1.5km but happy with the time. Thought it was gonna be slower- felt slower, haha! ILF track club 5k winter training begins! Also, running in Stockholm in the winter has to suuuuuuuck!

@coldbrightsunlight- that's where I am, too- have realied that to get faster it's gonna take speed work. And I either get faster or my knees/shins/hips explode. Not haha.

@bigguitartone- 6oz per lap *seems* doable. Did you keep the suds down? I can barely hold down water, im an empty stomach man- it's almost a guaranteed vomitorium. Still.

Just hit a PR of 5 miles without stopping/walking. I did slow down, averaging just under 12 mins a mile, but did it nonetheless :)

Feelin' good. :zen:

Rock'n'Roll Buddy!

Running in the winter is all about choosing the right gear. Though on long runs I run with a backpack with a down jacket in just in case I break down. But I won't run under -10 degrees. Too easy to damage your throat.

Yeah man just looked up the Fahrenheit conversion on that... I don't think I'd wanna go below 14 degrees either. I've run some in the cold (it'll get bitter cold here for like... a week :D ) and have been fine, but my biggest complaint is just having to wear too much shit. I prefer running in just shorts and blinding everyone with my unfathomable whiteness. :yay:

Agree on that but it's reached the season when I need to start layering up.

I'm disappointed my brethren here have not been as shocked as I was from this video  The section on diet alone has me astounded. She is a freak!!! (In an awesome way)

Yeah - I don't really watch stuff any more. Not really a moral thing or anything. Just time allocation. You know?

I should have mentioned it was a podcast. You could listen and multitask. Or not, I just found it interesting/unbelievable.

Bruh. Amazing!!! Tells me it's evolution- she was born to do that, no other explanation. 100 miles a week and blasting through ultras? Whoa

Was expecting that she's keto adapted or rare earth minerals or brain dust or blah blah blerb. Nachos and beer!! Awesome.

On the tech/gear front: SM7- nice.

Didn't make it all the way - was that really two hours?!

Quite a lot of ultra running sort of people don't eat weird specific diets, I don't think that stuff is at all necessary, when you're running 100 miles you just need as many calories as you can find and essential nutrients lol.

Only did a mile today because my hangover headache was so bad  let's hope I can do a better run tomorrow

I started up on the treadmill this week, I don't love it but it's better than what I was doing (Netflix and beer)
2 days in a row feels good

got my cold weather gear out (mask goggles and such) yesterday from summer storage and will probably try an outside run tonight or tomorrow night.
My biggest fear is that I am a night runner and cares give no fudges around here
