Dude. You calling me a moron?
For real. That gun seems very complicated for any use. I don't see it being practical. My gun has good safety's on it but I don't want all that electronic bs messing my shit up. I'd hate a gun like that.
Here's mine Springfield XD 40 Subcompact. I mean I have a few other guns, but this is my carry gun.
If you're using a gun for personal protection, you need something with a fast response on it. Not something you need to solve a goddamn riddle on.

If more good people were armed, the world would be a safer place.
This thing in Charleston pisses me off. The shooter should not have made it out of that church alive. Whenever one of these smug baby-faced cunts murders a building full of people, then surrenders to police without a mark on him, it empowers other cowards like him. Someone getting ready to kill a lot of people should at least know they'll never make it out alive, that they'll be dead before the police get there.
And if I were still in SC I'd pull that goddamned Confederate flag down myself. What a disgrace.

I agree on all accounts.

If more good people were around, there wouldn't be a need for guns in the first place.

Are you a liberal? You sound like a liberal.
I'm all for peace and shit, but we don't exist in that world unfortunately. So I keep my gun with me because I'll shot someone if I have to. That's the sad truth of life. I wouldn't do it in cold blood but if someone fucks with my family, they have another thing coming.
I don't NEED a gun, but I've been on the opposite side of having one in my face more than a few times. It's not fun to not be able to protect yourself against wanna bee thugs and looney toons that carry. I refuse to be a fucking victim.
The real reason I carry is a not so funny story. A couple years ago I took my family to a fireworks display at a place called Corporate Woods. This is in a really nice part of town and one of the most expensive business offices in the entire metro area. Seemed safe enough right?
After the show, we were trying to leave. Of course it was a parking lot scene and no one could move an inch. A lady was driving at me from my left side. There was no room let her in at all, but she kept inching towards me. She got about a foot away from my car with her car, so I rolled my window and said "are you planning on hitting me?". She jumped out of the car, told she was going to hit me and what the fuck am I going to do about it? I said "get back in your car, your insane and I don't want to talk to you". She told me she had a gun in her trunk and was going to shot me and my family. This was all over NOTHING. Not a fucking thing. Then she proceeded to go to her trunk to get said gun. I could do nothing, not a fucking thing because I was stuck in traffic and my entire family (wife and 2 girls were there). My wife yelled at her and she started walking faster. I slammed on the gas and force out into traffic and almost caused us to get into an accident. The lady followed us. We saw the police up ahead, informed them of the situation and they arrested her.
Had I hesitated, we could all be dead. I don't know if she had a gun or not. I'll never know. But had I had my own fire arm, I would have a least had a shot at protecting them had she pulled a gun. Had I not been able to get out of that parking lot.
I'm not trying to see like some pussy or say that people of all walks of life should carry guns, but I am going to. Since I am, I want it to be a weapon that can be used at the drop of a hat. In a split second. Otherwise, it could me instead of them.

Thats a crazy story J. Sorry you went through that.
I feel like I've been on the opposite end of that tale in a way. One of my best friends was being himself, a cocky 17 year old, when some people came up that he owed some money to, not a lot, but he was being a dick instead of just apologizing and saying he'd get it or what not. One thing leads to another, he fires off his gun trying to scare them. I don't know what happened really, but he ended up shooting twice, second time into the back of the car and accidentally killed someone. He spent a year on the lamb then some time in jail. It was awful. By all means he was in the wrong. He should never have had a gun. I don't really have a point to this, other than that I think guns are really sad and scary.

The point being made was "if more good people carried..." the inference being that good people don't. If we had more good people, we wouldn't need guns. I think guns are fucking lame, but I also have lived in fairly heavily armed areas. I get that people justify them, and the second amendment is a thing so they've got a right to it. That doesn't mean I have to agree with it.
Also worth noting, if that crazy lady didn't have a gun, you wouldn't have had to run away.

Like, think about the logic here: "I need to have a gun because other people might have guns and I don't want other people to have guns without me." That's the very definition of a slippery slope.

We have crazy people in Australia, too.
And we have guns.
Check our homicide/gun related incident rates.
Just sayin.

See I totally agree with DOS. I do. But the fact still stands that there aren't more good people. It won't ever happen like that. This is reality and we have to exist in it. In the United States we have morons who carry and kill for no reason. It could be worse. We could live in one of the many other nations that slaughter thousands of people for no reason without even blinking.
My cousin was murdered by one of these morons with a gun. He was sitting in a parking lot, about to leave the mall and was shot through his car into the back of the head. He didn't even have a chance. Had no idea it was coming. Just dead. In the blink of an eye. It's been one of the most devastating things my family has ever been through. I'm sorry, I almost started crying just typing this.
This man, right here, killed my cousin and two others in cold blood.
I thank God that a Kansas City police officer put two bullet between his eyes because he was shooting at the mall and going for more blood. This man deserved his fate, my cousin did not.
http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/nat ... ting_N.htm
My point in sharing that is, bad people exist everywhere. No matter what I choose to do, they will still exist. I have to decide whether or not I'm going to be prepared for that bad person or not. That's my thought process. I've been in many, many scary situations being from Kansas City. I've had guns stuck in my face, had people attack me, been removed from a car so it could be stolen at gun point, and many other incidents. I realized the place I live, and live close to are not that safe sometimes and it's scary. It sucks. I try to stay level headed, breath and just know that if the shit hit the fan, I may have a chance. I may not though. But at least it will get me through the day.
I can only pray that if I were to go out, it would be in a similar fashion as my cousin as sad as that is to say. He didn't know. He wasn't prepared because he couldn't have been no matter what. Someone shot him in the back of the head. You can't protect yourself from that. At least he died fast.
Man...I've got to go talk about pedals now. I can barely keep it together.
I'm sorry guys.

Adam, that is horrible! I am so sorry that happened and that your cousin was killed for no reason at all…
I used to have a couple of guns. I miss my first gun, .22 rifle.
I expect to get a gun or two again but I won't carry.
