Preseason week 3 the carolina panthers played at the ravens.
the panthers defense / special teams scored 33 fantasy points. Most of it in the first 3 quarters where it was mostly first string vs first string

3 turnovers
3 def tds
3 sacks
1 74 yard punt return td

and yes they are considered the 22-28th best dst unit in fantasy

edit: hey bill hicks guy, if the other team you were referring to is the seahawks u r right
they might be the best d in the league i have decidededed. ed.

We're down to just 3 more guys that need to pay. Try to get them in before the draft on Sunday, guys!

ha, some guy in our $250 10-team keeper just traded me his #3 draft position (throughout) for my #8. for free. nothing in return.
his motivation?
he's already keeping chris johnson and jamaal charles and said "i dont want to have to pick another stud running back."
the top guys who are available are like spiller, mccoy, calvin johnson, matt forte, reggie bush
i already have stud wr and qb so i need to pick a stud of these guys to complete the set. but it never hurts having calvin johnson in a ppr with big play bonuses

WTF? Now see, that one I would absolutely veto. On player-for-player trades, I almost never veto (barring clear collusion) because it's not the commish's job to evaluate player value for people. But in a straight 1-to-1 draft pick trade? That is literally non-sensical. He doesn't HAVE to draft a stud running back, he can draft whoever the hell he wants. If i was one of the guys in picks 4-7, I would either demand that trade be vetoed, or I'd give notice that I was never playing in that league ever again.

exactly...which is why it is great for me.

i left out this part...
keepers dont begin til round 2, so i am giving up the 3rd best keeper pick. which is probably david wilson. kind of a big deal. that's gotta be the guy's motivation here, he's got 2 aging rb's for keepers.

but yeah id still be pissed anyway.

edit-
getting a better keeper pick: yeah thats definitely what this is all about. now that i think about it some more, some of us have openly discussed doing a draft position trade without compensation since the draft order was set
i dont think its ever actually been done, and this is an old league, but i am fairly new to it.

the way i see it, if rg3 stays healthy, julio and rg3 are probably going to be my keepers for a lot of years...filling out the roster around them is my priority, not my draft position on the first round of keepers.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

OK, I get it now. I didn't realize that you can't keep 1st rounders. That's starting to make a little bit of sense now. I get why he would do it, but yeah, I'd still be mother-pissed if I was in that 4-7 position.

See, weird situations like this are why I don't really like snake drafts. Every other league I'm in other than the ILF league is auction. Auction is so much cleaner. You want a guy? Just pay more than anyone else. If you want to punt a year? Trade all your studs for a crapload of draft money for next year (which is what I did last offseason).

Yeah, thats a pretty big detail i left out. but for my purposes, another keeper isnt really what i need, like i was saying.
however i will be sneaky drafting some dudes with keeper potential. possibly andy luck, sam bradford. (we have 19 roster spots so u can get risky)

never done an auction, sounds pretty fun though.

but yeah one of those 4-7 guys isnt gonna get to draft mccoy or forte cuz i will.

these are the best available, in the order i believe they should be in for a crazy ppr

Arian Foster
CJ Spiller
Calvin Johnson
LeSean McCoy
Matt Forte
Reggie Bush

so im picking 3rd now
no matter what i cant draft calvin
def not drafting bush
hoping for mccoy or forte, not sure which i like more. i guess mccoy slightly

So I just found out that the league I'm drafting for tomorrow switched to 2QB and no one ever told me. Now I'm gonna have to completely re-do my auction values spreadsheet tonight. Goddamn it.

To clarify, I actually like the idea of going to 2QB. I just wish I had been told a couple weeks ago so I could prepare my deeper QB picks

yeah...
my draft order trade went through, but it's 5th, not 3rd.
being in the middle of the round kind of sucks.
makes picking from that list of 6 names harder.
someone will take calvin, so i dont even think i have to worry about that....i think forte will fall to me, and id be real happy with that

good luck in ur 2qber dude

It really is the only way to draft once you try it. It's so much more fun, and everyone needs to know their shit a little bit more.
