You were smart though. Then Squier came and wrecked all that.

I just got a response from thomann:
Art. 318863 - Fender SQ VM Modified Bass VI 3CSB - vorauss. Liefertermin. 02.08.2013 - Preis: 325.00 EUR
FUCK YEAH!
FUCK YEAH!
Thanks duder. Will order as soon as the artice number is working (right now it says "product no more in our portfolio" - but that is normal for these "early releases").

Yep! Same here!
Sooo... since pretty much everyone is getting one.. which color are you guys going for?
I already settled on 3CSB. Looks so good with the block inlays and the fingerboard binding. GUHH.. GIMME!
I'm also gonna go way overboard with this order... a Squier VM Bass VI and either a J Mascis Jazzy, a VM Tele Deluxe or the modern player jazzy in red with the two humbuggies.
Money will decide.
I also need to get a bass cab... and more pedals.. crap.

Smart indeed! Agile makes quality instruments! Regardless of these Squires I still want an Ultra VI. If there is a shop by me that gets these squires I will definatly check them out!

Not a fan of any of the color choices - sunburst on cheap instruments is so often awful (I'm a snob in the burst department), but I detest white and black guitars too.
Also not a fan of the white guard on the black bass, would prefer tort.
So, thinking sunburst with a pile of stickers.

Squier probably tapped the marketing department, decided to release black, white, and burst cuz they know anyone wanting a Bass VI is gonna snatch one up regardless of finish. Down the road they'll release the cool ass 60's colors like Surf Green, Sonic or Lake Placid Blue, Ocean Turquoise, etc, etc and people go mad wanting another one since they're only $350.
Genius.

I figure we get the boring colors because the basic bass stuff is always in boring colors and they're trying to not scare off the dentists.

I feel like this is too true. I'm totally going to get one because its a fucking Bass VI but, the colour selection sucks. Seriously, does anyone actually like a white pickguard on a black guitar?
This would kick ass in Surf Green or Sonic Blue and they'll totally drop those finishes later when they realize how popular these are going to be. Which also confuses me; why has it taken so long for these to become popular?

I'm just hoping that y'all don't grab all the Olympic White ones before I get a chance. 'Cause that'll be an absolutely perfectly fine by me.
