Yeah, I'm kinda cheap but whatevs. Tanquery should probably be on my list, eh?
I'm certainly no gin aficionado, but Bombay Sapphire was always my favorite. I think it definitely beats Tanqueray for every coctail I've ever tried, but I never drink gin straight.

Concerning the gin; +1 on the Bombay Sapphire. Can also recommend Beefeater and Gordon's. Haven't had Hendrick's or Tanqueray anywhere ever, but should try them at some point because I've heard good things. Also, I was in England last week and had some saffron gin there (from France I believe) which was delicious and some generic London dry gin from an Asda supermarket which was awful.
Disclaimer: I only have my gin with tonic, but I do drink tonic without gin as well. My fav tonics are probably Fever Tree (rare in The Netherlands) > Royal Club > Kinley > Schweppes. I have had Canada Dry as well in the past but that was in 2006 when I was in the USA with my dad. It was good but I wouldn't know how to compare it to the others I've mentioned because that was almost a decade ago (and I'm only 23, dang time flies!). Generic tonic from Asda was just as meh as the generic gin. Will steer clear from generic gins and/or tonics from now on.

If you want to get spendy on some decent gin, I highly recommend St. George's over Hendricks. But new Amsterdam is a great product for the money. A bottle of decent amaro (cardamaro, maletti, other weird bitter shit gathering dust in the liquor store) can really help stretch a mediocre bottle of gin or vodka a lot further and make it taste twice as nice.
I do a gin and tonic with 2.5 oz gin, 1 oz maletti, juice of 1 lime, and tonic.

I actually quite enjoy New Amsterdam.
(I also can't drink bombay because they use almonds as a botanical).

monkey 47, botanist and gin mare are my favourites. Unfortunately I can't spend that kind of money on liquor atm. So it's beefeater or good ol Gordon's which are both good enough for a no frills g&t. But no frills no frollocking.

Kinda yes, but without the club soda. Just bourbon, simple syrup and mint.

Monkey 47 and Hendricks are my absolute two favorite gins and I'm generally not a big gin drinker.
