How come we're back to discussing small, medium and large penises, I though we were through with that?
Did I say penises? Sorry

I guess I meant pedalboards.
What if I rehouse half of my fuzz boxes into a single gigantic aluminum enclosure and claim it a medium board? ba-da TSHHHHhhhhhhhhh...
No, not really. I'm just opposed the size categories and poking fun

because I find such categories... uninspiring, to put it nicely. Sorry.

I still don't fully understand nominating... Isn't that just voting?
It sorta made sense when we talked about nominating based on the existing thread, but that would have been a headache to get through.
Nominations with this style would just be an additional popularity contest that excludes community members before the "contest" even starts

My idea was to start a new thread where you only post your pic and post count (if thats what we're going with) and we then take that thread to do the sorting or nominations.

i think there is the divide between the majority (or so it seems) that feels it's a pain in the ass to go through the LSYP thread looking for the best board in a certain category and thus wants to concentrate on the competition part and on the other hand the few (like univalve f.ex.) that just wanted to look through the LSYP thread and have a little game on the side. Personally I am fine with either way to go and am willing to contribute to both. It seems to have been decided to do this the competition way.
So we use the post count category, and then we assign one trusted, senior member or a mod to run this. People can email this competition master their submissions and he sorts them into four locked threads only he can access. To make it easier we could also share this duty between different people. If noone objects I would volunteer under the condition that someone else would share the trouble with me. I think that nominations out of that thread would actually be just the same as a first vote, so we could omit that step.
So, I would take the lower post counts if someone agrees to do the big guns. I'll make an email addy for my half, don't want my personal mail to get clogged up. How about that?

^I like this. I'll also volunteer to handle a thread if that's cool with everyone.
Should we also have picture submissions include what the instrument(s) used through the board are?

Might be easier just to have one person handle the grunt work (sorting submissions and creating the threads)...I don't mind doing that, if you guys just iron out the details.
You guys are running this, I'll just do the busy work.
As for full rig shots...maybe a full rig bonus category?
This is about the pedals so I think the main categories should be focused on the pedals only...just spitballin here.

That's a good idea, probably would be more organized.
Thank you for voulenteering

Let's concentrate on pedals, full rig can be a bonus category if people want to start showing of their private parts.

I was about to volunteer to help out my bro Mick so IF You need help just send pm.
Nominating/ voting... yeah, people seem to have very different ideas of this. I would personally prefer browsing the pedalboards thread and nominate (yeah, thus voting it myself and taking it up for others to vote, too) my favorites from there. Just to spare everybody the trouble, AND to make use of ILF history of the absolutely awesome pedalboards!
If people feel like it, they could still post a posh new, properly lighted and staged picture of their pedalboard with all gear rehoused in gold plated boxes and the local cheerleader group promoting it all butt naked.

Thought about that as well, making a pic only version of the 2011 boards because that would be more entertaining than this dilly dallying about categories or what's fair. Maybe I'll start on that tonight if I'm bored, just throwing up all the photos and leave a page marker so anybody else that wants to can add to it.

i think, that was my idea with starting the thread - just not explained proper...

I'm going to caution again against a new thread of handpicked boards with the intention of nominating and eventually voting (as opposed to personal submissions via email).
I think making another pedal board thread would just create another cluster flux,
There have been just under 4,000 posts in that thread in 2011. Just finding your own board (depending on your post count

) could be a nightmare, let alone finding a cool one to vote for.
A number of them have been moved/removed from their original host at photobucket/imageshack/tinypic or w/e
There's no way of proving your board is um...your board.
I know that's lame but I wouldn't put it past people to do this just for fun (or glory).
In most other board contests you have to put something with a date and your username on it, a printed sign or a newspaper or something.
Plus it would be lame to have someone win who doesn't even post here anymore.

I also think personal submissions would be more convenient and easier.

I agree with everything you said. While it is fun to browse through the pedalboard thread I don't want to look through 251 pages of the pedalboard thread to find someone I'd want to nominate.
I'd rather just submit my own board, I don't think there's anyone here that's so 'humble' or whatever that they wouldn't nominate themselves anyway.

me too, except that I'd find it hilariously silly instead of [i]lame[i] if somebody not present here anymore won :lol
ANYWAY: how do we do this then if You want to - for example - post MLCs board instead of Your own? I mean, if You're not feeling like competing but wanted instead to bring something cool up? Or don't we do that?
