Sorry to hear that, dude.
Thanks bud

This is gonna be my soundtrack at work today.
Iommic Pope wrote:Skip that sounds like some heavy shit man. I hope things pick up for you dude. I hope you haven't got those post new baby blues either. Watch out for those, they are a fucking killer. Like fucking elite ninja depression killer. That shit doesn't just happen to the ladies either. New dad stuff can be heavy, but like all things male mental health related, nobody says nothin to no one. Babies are a great catalyst for "oh shit, life just Got real. And why does everything have to fuck with me?!"
I think it's got a lot to do with the state of play these days, and the steadily disappearing definition of the male role in society and the family. You know, as guys we try to take everything on and be fucking superdude/ partner/ dad and then the fucking wheels fall off cause its not possible. Nobody tells you that shit.
Sorry, that was a rant.
You probably aren't dealing with that.
Watch out
for it though.
So if nobody has done this etched amp thing then I will. Fuck it.
Summit, that Muchas looking skull girl on the bloom makes me want to hit Tom up for one. Fuck that is sweet. Maybe he will put it on a tshirt?
Luckily it has nothing to do with the baby, except for a lil depression for bringing her into such a fucked up world that only seems to get worse. Monday afternoon I found out that a good friend (and really good friend of my wifes) passed away suddenly on Friday due to a completely random seizure. He was only 26. He woke up friday morning, was walking around fine hanging out at home with his mom, and he just stood up seized and was done, the paramedics couldn't do anything for him, he was just gone randomly suddenly with out any warning. The worst part is he left behind a 5 year old daughter which he loved dearly. Then that night my mom called me to say she couldn't find our cat (she's been watching him while we get my daughter settled at home and we get him updated on his shots), when she left in the morning he was in the window as always but when she got home he was nowhere to be found. She looked for him numerous times through out the night out side but to no avail, the next morning on her way to work she found him dead on the side of the road 2 blocks away. He wasn't hit by a car and had no visible trauma but there was vomit near him. She picked him up and brought him back to my house where I buried him last night. He'd been my best friend for almost 12 years now and I felt the last thing I could do for him was to dig his final resting spot with my own hands, he deserved it.
So yeah its been a rough week, and we still have our friends wake and funeral to go to. My wife has been hit hardest of our friend passing so I decided to nominate our house as the spot for the after party. Which is what our friend would have wanted.
Iommic Pope wrote:Ok, so I'm a dumb ass. I'm on my phone and it compresses the page all fucked up and Ax, I mistook your heavy post for Skip replying. So sorry to both you guys and everyone else that read that.

I stand by what I said about post baby blues for dudes though.
hahahaha its all good buddy.

Skip
Life is shallow and callously cruel at times for no good reason. Sorry to hear for about those losses. If you need to talk at all, let me know. Least I could do is try to cheer you up by talking about awesome gear I have been thinking about.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it
My grieving process is really weird, I gotta think about things for myself for a while before I reach out.
And right now unfortunately talking about new gear would probably make things worse as I have no money for anything hahaha GAS and grieving is a terrible combination.

Thanks man, and they will get better. Right now corrupted is soothing the numbness, like xanax on top of a morphine ride.

Good shit mang. Whatcha using for trem in the intro?
new05002 wrote:Picked up a Dobsky Fuzz today from Moose!

What sort of fuzz?
Thanks man. I'm just using a stock TR2. On that part though I run a patch off of my Timefactor that emulates a modulated reverb (until I get another Ghost Echo) with the trem.

So. Fucking. Heavy.
Every time winter comes around I find myself listening to El Mundo Frio, Asunder's A Clarion Call and the Entire YOB and Neurosis discography. Hahaha. Great winter tunes.
In Georgia for our three weeks of winter I listen to a shitload of black metal. I catch a lot of shit for it, but Cruelty and the Beast by Cradle of Filth gets the most rotation while on my black metal kick along with Blut Aus Nord, Lurker of Chalice, and Nargaroth.

I just got back from working a DOA and the first thing I read is this. Sucks dude, sorry for both of your losses. Sometimes I feel like Death is going to fuck me up royally for interfering with his plans.

Much mojo sent to everyone having a rough time of it. Keep yer chins up, brothers. The world is plenty fucked up, but it's also a beautiful ride for the split second we get to be here.
On a more posi note, I accidentally bought a guitar.
Got it for a song. Neck through. Read some great reviews of it, and I didn't think the buyer would take my offer. Well, now I've got a new guitar heading my way. Anyone ever played one of these bad boys?

So versatile it'll replace your 808.
Finally got my last tattoo coloured yesterday just waiting on the redness to die down so I can see it properly.
Iommic Pope those amps all have similar topographies/lineage but will sound quite different as they're not exactly clones. Afaik the Migs and Bassmans are 6L6 and the Supergroup would be EL34 so there's that for starters.
Lots of little differences between the 50s Bassman, Bluesbreaker, Superbass/Superlead, Plexi, Mig 50/100, Supergroup.
1. Power Supply Voltages
2. Quality and Design of Output and Power Transformers
3. Preamp and Output Tubes
4. Small changes to the preamp schematic (bright caps, cathode resistors, cathode caps, EQ components)
