i just picked up a les paul jr with a p90 by hamer. holy fuck it sounds so good through my hellhawk. so did my gibson double cutaway special, but that guitar was too heavy for what it was and had to go.

I'm forever torn between not wanting to spend that much on gear and just wanting an incredible amp that will last me forever, except at some point I'll probably want a smaller one. I'm trying to hold true! At this point I really think I'm going to wait it out. I'm in the process of purging lots of gear just laying around. Last night I posted a bunch of stuff on reverb and shipped it all out today. Covered the amp about halfway just with that, so I think I'm going to do it. I need to just stop thinking about it and be fully committed.

Thanks guys!!! I figured if im ordering my own personal amp brand new im going to get something that stands out, purple is my favorite color and I thought why not with the sparkle tolex. I didnt expect it to look THAT good Im excited for it to get to me! FedEx keeps bouncing back and forth between tomorrow and Monday, i wish theyd make up there minds haha

No updates but I already paid the bitch and sold my science cab. I don't think Im going to buy another custom cab though after the hassle of trying to get rid of it and losing so much on the sale technically. I'd rather stay local now. Either way my mother is gonna look great on my emperor 1x15

That'll sound amazing Im sure! I have my custom Atlas 4x12 and I know if I ever need to sell it im gonna lose SO much money from it

New Emperor cabs being made = Emperor cabs close to me on reverb. The downside is they're all super expensive.

So I'm glad I got the matching cab. I'm really not happy with the Panama 2x12 I got earlier this year but won't make the cost back trying to sell it on Reverb, either. (They're super cheap cabs.)

One more tube question for waltdogg and others in the know. Do preamp tubes need matching if I only have V1 preamp and V2 phase inverter? What about 2x power tubes -- matching? (Tubes went microphonic on my little ampeg guitar amp, and I'm looking at replacing just the one that went bad, but also wanted to price out replacing it all and keeping the tubes that the amp came with as spares.)

always match power tubes. preamp tube matching is more of a hi-fi tube stereo thing. get a good sounding v1 and for your phase inverter, it depends on what type the amp calls for. 12ax7? sovtek 12ax7lps. 12at7/au7/ay7? you'd wanna get a nos military spec (jan) tube.
