In local news I have finally built a pedal board. I added delay to the mix and that was just too much crap to tear down and try to put away in an organized fashion after the set. I used a chunk of shelf I found in the basement. So with velcro from Joann's and two rubber feet from Soldano the whole thing cost me $11. After I built it I realized that I had no way of storing or transportating it so I had to look around. I noticed this cool Fender gig bag that came with a sampling keyboard I bought in about '93. It was about one inch wider than my new board. It had some light padding but it wasn't burly enough for my liking. So I dud some more rooting around downstairs and found some of those gym mats that come in two foot squares with the interlocking edges like puzzle pieces. I cut that stuff to fit and now I have a pretty secure means of carrying my goods with no money spent. We leave for our little tour next week so I'll find out how well I've done soon enough.

Lord Dying were at the top of their game when we played with them the other night and I have been listening to their album every day since. You should be too!

And Skip I recall way back when I posted this Wounded Giant video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msndwAzGrWA you were asking what the vibey sound comes from in the beginning. It's a DOD Vibro Thang. I saw these dudes twice last weekend and goddammit that is a cool sound live. These guys are my favorite Seattle band right now. I wish they had more than one studio tune up on the bandcamp.

I feel compelled to clarify a thing too. There is no wait for Ape Blasters. I say this because I noticed that John said to Brett that he couldn't believe he was still waiting on an Ape Blaster and I really don't want the general readership to get the idea that I'm one of
those builders. Brett is waiting because a guy simply cannot buy every shiny bauble that catches the ear all at once.
Awwwww thanks buddy.

She gets more and more precious everyday.
Dude that lil pedal board is sweet! You can't beat it for $11!!!!
vibro thang you say? So it was a vibrato / vibe pedal eh? They are the only modulation pedals I seem to like so it makes sense. I can't stand chorus (all I can think to do is play the beginning of Cemetary Gates....) and Phaser has never been kind to my setups. I was thinking of eventually adding some kind of modulation to this new board and that just solidifies that its gonna be some kind of Vibe, I was really liking the EQD Depths....

there are cheaper univibe clones out there ya know. I have heard a few good ones. His is a full on analog replica, hence the pricey nature.

You did what any reasonable man would do.

Priorities man, priorities!!!! But when I do go to get a vibe pedal I will definitely keep you in mind!!!
I'm even considering selling my beloved epi all black V.... Ever since I switched to 7 strings in Drop F I just can't go back to anything with less strings or higher tunings. But I rescued that V and I've had it for many moons. Gah... GAS SUCKS!!!!
My long term goal for this new board is Tuner > Quantum Mystic > Vibe > EB VPjr > Moog Mf-104M > Radial Big Shot ABY > amps

Not for this board, I still want a pigtronix for the drone board though. I'm not trying to all out copy Mr. Scheidt, just draw from his tonal influence.
