YAY! More Doom Babaies!
Awesome man, and also super cute! Do musicians just naturally make cool babies?
Congrats duder.
As for the QM v elements. I'm now thinking about trading my elements for a the cleaness. I swapped the QM into where the elements was and put the elements where I had a clean boost before. Big improvement in both respects. Elements is probably still the versatility king but for what I do the QM is on point.

I did this with my amps and it just introduced way too much hiss.

Same. People kept telling me to crank the master and use the preamp as the volume, but it never worked properly, not on high gain amps like a Soldano or a JCM800. Even the Hiwatt Custom 100 I tried possessed a little white noise when you maxed out the master and used the preamp volume to control the overall level. I'd rather just buy the right amp in the first place.
Which is why you should buy an NVM amp.
"too much hiss" is subjective measurement of a noise floor from player to player, but you can try swapping around preamp tubes, especially if there's noise when there's no cable in the input jack.
I absolutely disagree that 'master at full volume to taste' doesn't work with high gain amplifiers, but YMMV.
It's not that it 'doesn't work'. It's that it's not the same sound as an original NVM amp. To me it doesn't sound the same, and I can't deal with the hiss. I'm not alone here.
Seems like you're having a dour day.

NICE! But if you don't get some kind of green light up faceplate for it I will drive to DC and punch you right in the neck...but only after we go deaf playing some sweet ass riffs.
ALSO HEY EVERYONE LOOK WHAT I DID!!!! My daughter Maggie was born on Thursday night. No air guitars like Skip's girl yet, but she is still super rad.

It has a looser feel the the elements and I feel the eq is more organic and effects not just the frequencies but the over all feel of the pedal increasing gain in each frequency band.
Thanks! I dunno man I was actually thinking of keeping the black grill and getting a new control face plate that looks like a model t. The grill reminds me of the T and the amp is a Matamp / model t combo so I thought it would be cool to make it look like a green tolex model T.
Dude she's gorgeous!! It's crazy that our girls were born a week apart. I'm typing this one handed while feeding Autumn. It's crazy how fast they grow. Babies by far are the best gear acquisition evah!!!!

The more I watch the demo, the more I want one. Talk to me about how it compares to The Elements.
It sounds to me more like an overdriven/fuzzed out amp than what you'd get with the Elements, and sounds similarly-voiced to what Mike has used in the past. It feels so dirty but HOW COMES MY CONSCIENCE IS SO CLEAN
AND CONGRATS YOU OLD SO AND SO, Maggie is my sister's name. Good name. She's beautiful!

You breeders are all freaking me out. There's an interesting Freakonomics podcast about what makes a good parent and what stuff you probably shouldn't worry about. It's a good listen. The series in general is quite good.

Woot! Babies! Well done sir!
My toddler is sitting at my feet losing his shit because I said he couldn't jump straight on the computer and look at dinosaurs.
Father of the year.
Also, Skip, did not see that Dunwich coming. What happened to the weed faceplate?
