There can never be enough! I think if my wife realized how much stuff I've gotten in person other than piecemeal aside from the 2 times she has been down to my shed... she'd be eyeing what can be sold for things she wants.

That's definitely more square inches pushing air!! It would atleast be perceived as louder. :thumb:

If you tune a guitar any lower than I have mine, its no longer a guitar. It's a bass. ;)

I may have more power, but my figures aren't even including the Wizard head which is setup exclusively for bass ATM.

1200w boiiiyyyeeeee

What do you normally tune to Ancient? My regular set up is usually A standard. And then following to G standard. Lately I've been going pretty much Mortician style tune down super low just tuning up enough to keep string tension. I think that's F flat for the strings I have on that guitar. It's abysmally awesome.

It depends on what guitar I'm playing and what mood I'm in but here's a run down:

Dearmond S-67 (.12-.79 strings) - Modified Drop F (FCFA#DGC)
Monson Nomad - (.12-.60 strings) - C Standard (CFA#D#GC)
Parts Esquire - (.12-.60 strings) - C Standard (CFA#D#GC)

I like A standard alot but if I'm gonna go low I go as low as I can go hahaha and since my amp setup is inbetween a guitar and a bass setup it works perfectly, the lower I tune the thicker and louder its perceived. :yay:

It's okay buddy I still love you  I had my old 8 string in bass drop D, and it was fun but 8 strings was just a bit too much for me. (too much for me?!?!?! :idk: Weird but trve)

Very nice. I have my guitars kinda set up from D standard to G standard regularly. I don't play anything in drop just not really fond of it as far as enjoying actually playing it. And to get to the flat F standard I just tune the G guitar down lower since I only use that for a single project right now.

I like A standard cause I use it more for death metal and I do a lot of faster material. From what I've learned is that is about as low as I can go and still keep things clear and not sloppy/floppy... unless I'm doing something like Hemdale, 50/50, Mortician styled grind. then if it gets wall of sound then it's okay cause it's not that I'm playing any mind blowing riffs at that point.

I used to play Drop tunings exclusively but that was mainly from back when i was playing alot of deftones inspired stuff. Now a days I find it easier to write in a standard tuning due to the chord types I'm using now. The Drop f tuning though allows me to basically play like I'm on one of my 6 strings but able to add in a droning octave not below it which can be really cool, plus since theres alot of sustained chords I can hold out 5 string chords alot easier and for alot longer due to being able to bar most of the chord.

I could definitely see that, anything below A without insane string tension like you said loses clarity and the sustain lessens. I don't play much death metal stuff anymore but I do play some black metal influenced riffs which is why I keep somewhere around C, there's more clarity in chords under huge amounts of gain and theres enough tension to keep trem picked chords from turning into much.

Man I haven't thought about Mortician in a long time... I'll have to break out the old high school CD binder and see what I can dig up. Thanks for reminding me!!!

I really wanna get pictures of my rig(s) up. Not as visually impressive as the march of the elephants coming through lately lol. Plus, it's scattered across 3 locations. I might just snap some pics of my stuff in storage at work today.

I'm thinking I should run the tuner out from my bigshot into tony's, and slave to PA from one of the heads. Just for "science"

My Doom Dick would be enormous.
