I still think a compressor before it is needed for the full vibe since that is part of Mike's approach. However it gets most of that sound without it. I think its not just the pedal that is needed, its also just Mike's approach to the whole thing.

It at least gets pretty close on its own. But I agree, compressor + Mike Scheidt's hands are probably necessary for the full experience.

Slob on my Yob.

Also, my copy of Elaborations showed up earlier today. Fucking A, I deeffffinitely should've listened to this one earlier--probably would've made the sonic jump from Cessetation to Atma a little easier--I hear a lot of EoC in Atma's production. The album version of Revolution is way different from the demo, too. I LIKE IT BETTER. Embryonic Yob is just as gnarly as full-born Yob. They're a little more overtly bowing at the altar of Sabby Dooms, but ITS SO FUCKING GOOD.

More bands need Malleus cover art, too.

I did the thing, and I finally sold the Orange which has been plaguing my life for the last 2 years

Feels good. I think I'll be picking up a Twin Reverb to be a bit more versatile.
