Is Chronos the one in the top left? I had no idea what that was

Okay alright so
Let's say I want to get into modular stuff and I've got basically no budget and a bunch of pedals and a desire to make drones

What do you think are the like absolute bare minimum modules to have a thing that makes some kinda noise, to start out?

Cause I watched that Sloth video and holy dang do I need that in my life

If you really want to jump in and are just planning on drones, you could definitely get away with something like a Happy Ending Kit, a Drone Commander 2, and the Sloth. Then you can run that through whatever pedals you have (although you may need an output module for that).

Really all you "need" for drones is a couple oscillators, a filter, and a modulation source. And probably add in some VCAs or attenuators to control the amount of modulation. You could really get that super cheap from Doepfer.

But I would really suggest you start reading some of the introductory threads over on Muffwiggler, go back through this thread, and formulate some sort of a plan. In the long run it may end up saving you a lot of money and frustration

All of that is very true.

Any of you Peaks users use the Dead Mans Catch Firmware? Trading my Richter Wogglebug for a Peaks with it.

Peaks already has almost too much stuff for me, so I'm a bit scared of alternate firmware.
I really like wysiwyg for synths, so if you don't care about having to remember stuff then the alternate modes might be a very nice thing to have...

The Erica Synths Pico Sequencer is tons of fun. Surprisingly easy to use and full of functionalities. And tiny as fuck.

Not yet, and not really in a hurry to. I just barely got to the easter egg mode last week. I use the 4 main modes pretty equally, but that will change as I add more drums and envelopes. The LFO modes are great and have excellent waveshape variations, definitely a suitable replacement for the bug.

Now I need to decide what I want to do for knobs. Either black or offset it with white knobs.

Mother of all ironies: Doepfer now has the sexiest knobs in all of Eurorack.

Nobody is carrying the vintage ones in the US yet though, you'd have to order them from an overseas dealer (Cymru Beats has them), or direct from Doepfer.

Yeah I would absolutely not mind having a full Doepfer system with black faceplates. I don't know how it took them so long to update their old grey on grey

Cool things to put on the left there (or a different mixer, but I think I need a mixer)? or I could just use blank panels as a place to rest my Kommander?

Ok wait actually is there a mixer I can fit in there that has channel levels I can modulate with CV? That would be bitchin.
