They are one of my favorite bands. I have seen them a lot and they have always been great. I listened to the Brian Cook interview last night and they were joking about playing shows with Clutch and the crazy crowd. I was at the DC show with Clutch and it was a "hometonw" show since Clutch are from maryland. People were booing Russian Circles and it pissed me off. I love Clutch too but fuck some of the people who came to see them.

Yeah there's gonna be goons at more or less every show.

Pure conjecture:
If the Quantum Mystic was in the same sphere as, say, the Kowloon Walled Bunny, it would be a recreation/adaptation of a pedal that the guitarist used a lot. One that would be fairly essential to their signature sound.

I just shaved my sideburns. I had been growing them for, like, 6 months. Then I dyed my mustache black (I have brown hair), and I look like the biggest asshole now.

Yeah man, its amazing the difference that bearding up can make. Ah well, gotta start the process again.

with a mildew and squirrel shit tainted utility knife
so i had to rig up an iommi style
ductape and bandaid little padded fingercot
to fret with at jams tonight
i just set the multi band delay
turned on the thunderboxes
took a pull off some silly shit
adjusted my gimpfingers in powerchord formation
and let the fuckin demons out
yous guys woulda been proud
no fuckin around, all roar
