Upper end Dingwalls always reminded me of an Escher painting.

Got me a new bass this weekend:

Image

?99? MIM P
SD Quarter Pounders
Badass II bridge
Hipshot D tuner
.65-.150 strings in BEAD (or AEAD) tuning.

Between this and the Tele I had a pretty good haul this weekend.

dang! nice pick up. I wish they made Badass II bridges left handed... I almost picked up a 78' lefty p bass not too long ago but couldn't find a sweet bridge replacement in lefty.

I believe that left / right handed doesnt matter? You can swap the saddles in reverse order if theres are issue. Or is there something I'm missing with the lefty stuff? :idk:

It totally is, especially since I just got a set of QP's for my green p-bass. Now their near identical with exception of the bridge and fretboard. I finally have a matching backup to my bass for gigging, its great for peace of mind, plus the all black matches my live show outfits. What's funny is I had the option of this or an older American Standard and this one beat out the AS hands down in just about everything, the fit and finish was slightly nicer but i didn't like the AS neck and the QP's sounded way more up my alley then the AS p/u's. :idk:

And that drop tune seems like it'll come in handy too. Pair that with the new bridge, and it looks like a warhorse!

What's the detuner set to?
is it a real pain in the ass to set up? I was looking at one when the Jag Bass was coming together, but decided against it.
Super sweet bass, man. I love the simplicity and the sound of P basses...Js are cool but I still always wish there was a P pickup in there.
