Hi ILFians!

New to the forum, but I've been hoarding gear for years. 8)

I live in northern Ontario, Canada.
I've worked in the mining industry for 25+ years.

It was only last year that I got into the pedal craze.
I bought a new board, powered it and loaded it down with toys.
Thankfully, the pedals have trickled down to the odd fuzz or modulation pedal now.

I look forward to learning here and to constructively contribute when I can.

Oh, big fan of Dr Scientist pedals too!

I was gonna post "Medley Live from Northern Quebec" by Gram Parsons in honor of jaydee's introduction, but I can't find it on YouTube. Oh, well.

I can't remember if I introduced myself. I'm greigoroth. It's a good name because it's got gre and igoroth together, and there aren't that many other names that have that quality. I was thinking of maybe choosing a username such as "behndy" but it didn't contain as much gre or igoroth as I wanted. I'm from Sweden. We're famous for cuckoo clocks and the Alps and shit, depending on who you ask. I love metal. And big band jazz, just to prove that I'm like edumucated. I played guitar for years with just distortion and a wah, then I started getting into progish metal and we couldn't find a keyboard guy, so I've been getting further away from regular guitar sounds. I like polyrythms, although that is kinda obligatory for anyone who is into metal these days. I also enjoy long, barely cohesive paragraphs.

The guitarist in Digression, Mattias, inspired me with his freaky guitar sounds to get more creative with my other band. Mattias is way better at wacked out guitar shit than I am though. Bastard.
http://www.centreofgravity.net/ - I'm guitaring and singing with these dudes (only singing on the two recordings we've got online though). We play metal. The synthy stuff will be on the next record. Although it's all relative - it's still heaps of normal sounding riffs as well.

JUST DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE. That's the key rule of ILF, and its been respected around here. Failing to follow the code makes the regulars (the owner, the mods, and the old geezers around) exchange looks, You know. Be good.

That's the most important thing. We've come by with next to no moderation around here on ILF, but I believe the past year has proven we might see changes in future if spammers, haters, shitstorms, and assholes mess it for us.

Compared to other gear forums this place is the Wild West and we've liked it that way. Speak up Your mind. You don't necessarily have to be civil about it either but mind being rude AND not cool/ not ILF, and also respect the brotherly fuzz love or GTFO.


AND ABOUT SPAM!

Spam threads... If You have a fuzzy biz, don't spam, wait a bit and soon enough Your new friends will do that for You. If you feel like advertising, do it in Your sig. Or contribute, be loved and get away with it - in the shark tank. Ask Tom or the mods if feeling uncertain.

If it's a hobby and You feel like selling old stuff not used anymore go directly to B/S/T. Be fair, don't betray others trust, don't fuck around other peoples threads, play nice, and no one gets the ban hammer.

Enjoy. Make friends. And loud noises. Contribute. Be ILF

Im back online, more then two months ago since i had any internet connection at home. moved to a new apartment and all that crap. No new gear for since last year.
Busted my electric guitar last weekend, fixed it with some glue, shit sames to hold together. Crazy drunk atm, got to focus....
