So I decide to play on my lap....way easier on the hands. Even with the limited chord options, I can still get really creative with open tunings and slide techniques...I can play for hours without any consequences... Glad tobe back making serious noise!
Glad that you found a way to get back to playing! I've always been curious about how lap steel would sound with gobs of fuzz & crazy modulation.

Sounds good. You haven't really lived until you've played a lap steel through a Big Muff with a phaser and delay.

Effect take on a whole new dimension because you can slur notes and manipulate them to make it sound slightly sharp or flat and make clean vibrato effects much like a singer. I often ty to immitate vocals. Scales are tougher because you need to be precise and quick, but you can still hammer on and pull off. Overall, I can cover alot of ground on my lap guitar.
I definately recommend trying a lap with a fuzz, phaser, and everything else you can throw at it. Envelope filters work surprisingly with a steel slide....chucka chuka wah wah...

Hey, I'm Kate, and I'm IEatCats' girlfriend (no, really?). I've played acoustic guitar for five years, and I also play ukulele, banjo, dulcimer, and accordion.
In my free time, I speak Yiddish, knit, and keep a hive of really friendly bees.
So...holla.

Fun fact: she almost couldn't register, because she couldn't figure out the "I blank Fuzz" spamfilter.

What? You don't want to imply that I'm imaginary, you two, now do you?

I was afraid that something like this might happen.
But, I'm okay with it.
She's doing shit, but I'll make sure she gets around to posting a bit.
