I see a stampede coming if you ever let this loose.

BONG! love it.
I think one of the adrift for days dudes posts here occasionally? I like that album.

Some more essential doominess that I don't think got mentioned:

Goatsnake - Flower of Disease
Warhorse - As Heaven Turns to Ash
Church of Misery - Second Coming, Master of Brutality
Down - NOLA

I guess Master of Reality and Heaven & Hell are pretty obvious right?

Some kiwi shit as promised:

Arc of Ascent ride that comic-doom Sleep vibe pretty hard, two of the guys had an awesomely overlooked stoner rock/psych thing going back in the 90s, Datura. Drummer also plays in Viking Weed, which is dumb riff awesome sauce.

Beastwars are fantastic, best metal vocalist in the country iimo, tasteful riffs, deafening volume, recommended to any fans of modern heavy metal, Red Fang, Mastodon, Melvins style sludge rock etc There's even hints of 90s grunge in there, the bass player has that floppy noise-rock tone going on.

Methdrinker, hateful fucking crusty sludge:

Shallow Grave sound great from what I've heard, sorta E-Wiz by way of post-metal, but have only hit up welly a couple of times so I've yet to see 'em. Most of the stoner/doom is either in auckland or down south annoyingly. Guess everyone's too cool here.

I have not played through a Peavey I didn't like. For the most part they are pretty cheap and built like bricks. I have a dream of putting together an all peavey rig. I love my T-40 like I love my daughter and I would like to find a Classic 120/120 to run into a 3620 and a classic 60/60 to run into a 215. Prob. pick up a couple rusty boxes for pre's.

I have a 120/120. Tell me more of this 3620, and rusty boxes

You cats move to fast for me. The 3620 is a peavey cab with 2 18" speakers and 2 10s. The rusty box is a preamp that you will hear a lot about if you stick around or wander into the TB thread.

I WAS going to get some Wizards, but they weren't in stock, so I've got Governors instead. Only got the 1 4x12, I wish I had more though ;)

Dub, Methdrinker is pretty fucking filthy cool stuff. The band that some of those guys did beforehand is also awesomely nasty.

Wednesday is 1$ any size coffee day at 7-11

In other news.... I need recommendations for 15" speakers that will work well with guitar & bass. I'm picking up that Emperor 2x15 this weekend and I'm looking for something like the Emi Delta Pro-12a's that works great for either / or since this will pull double duty as my main bass cab or supplementary cab to my 4x12 in my guitar rig depending on the situation. So ummm yeah.... what chu got?

*edit* Derp they make a Delta Pro-15a.... It's pretty much identical to the 12 but with higher sensitivity and a tad more low end with the sacrifice of a lil high end.... I should do my own research....

I'd be interested in hearing about 15" speakers too. I'm looking to find a 2x15, either empty or loaded, and if the former is true I'll need to get good matches for my 12"s.

They are so consistently great from album to album it's amazing. Mike Scheidt is some kind of genius.

Hey mate.

Harry_Manback wrote:God damn it. I paid a dude to put new pickups in my Hagstrom and they're fucked up. Supposed to be coil tapped, but the "tap" doesn't work and it sounds like they're permanently in single coil mode. Totally weak and anemic sounding.

I've installed regular buckers before but was intimdated by all the wires on these. I just want shit to work.

I've experienced something similar. I bought a brand-new guitar and asked the shop I bought it from, a very respectable shop, to replace the pickups with Bare Knuckles. The neck had a P90 in a humbucker enclosure and the bridge had a mediuim-high output humbucker. Apart from installing the wrong covers, the front position was totally dead and quiet sounding. It was supposed to be coil-tapped, but it sounded tapped (as well as downright awful) permanently. I sent the whole guitar back after a big discussion with them. I was very disappointed with the quality of the workmanship, including the installation of dodgy pickups.

Nice. You can't go wrong with a Peavey Windsor. Even the 20 watt version cooks.

I'm liking this band Grief.

Your search for 15's should end with Emi Big Ben's, they mate up with the Swamp Thangs great (i've used the combo before) and with the governers coming in you will have some nice mid range cut as well.
