YES. I'd love to know what you think as I was thinking of getting one of my own

I really am digging it. I got it at a pawn shop for $238.50. You can't see in the pic but like usual it has runs in the finish and other stuff that would be nice to touch-up with a refinish.
This bass sounds GREAT. There was another Wishbass, a single cut away, that looked a bit nicer but this one just sounds better, lots of harmonics coming off the bass. I am liking the size of the neck, it isn't huge but it is sizable. The fretmarkers on the side of the neck are really only good for a general reference, some are closer to the actual note than others.
It is fun to play for sure, it is like a new type of instrument, I am playing it differently than I do my other bass.
I would recommend it to someone who isn't anal about an instrument being perfect, to someone that doesn't mind doing some work to the instrument if they do want better fit and finish. I think for the price, this is a great way to get into a fretless bass.

I know that I want a go with one. They are less powerful than an SVT-CL (rated at 100 watts but I think closer to 140 by some reports).

I want to try one out because of the fact that they are less powerful. Hence you can crank the shit out of them and get that powertube compression without being oppressively loud as you would with more powerful amps like the SVT-CL (300watt). To me I can crank the gain for grit on the SVT-CL,...but that usually means I need to dial back the Master to keep from blowing my guitar player away.

Beyond that I don't know much about the tonestack or even what sort of output tubes it uses or anything like that. I'm assuming it's the same as the SVT-CL :idk:

I have no intention of ever getting rid of my SVT-CL,...I just find myself wanting to try out V4 for compare and contrast.

Someone with actual experience might be able to fill you in better than I.

EDIT: set me on an evening full of research.

:picard:

that's actually what I like about it, and also what I don't like about it: have to crank it to be heard, but, well, crank it and it sounds fucking AMAZING. It's closer to 140 watts, yep. From comparing it to friends SVT's it feels like it's maybe got a little more bottom on it too? I just wish it had the tiniest bit more headroom.

Oh and according to the dude who fixed it for me recently it takes 6L6s.

I usually don't like those funny shape modern basses but something about that is really cool! What does it sound like compared to other fretlesses?

I really don't have a lot of experience with fretless basses. I have dicked-off with a few before. I did however spend a siginificant amount of time A/Bing this Wishbass with another one that was a different body style. This particular bass just has a livelier sound, it seems like more harmonic overtones, it really has that MWAAAHH. I really enjoy just playing this bass clean, I don't have the immediate urge to mangle the sound (I did run it through my board once). IDK if I just got a winner or what but I would put this bass against way more expensive basses soundwise. I got this bass used for less than a new Squier VM fretless jazz and I can gaurantee the Wishbass destroys it.

That's cool, I've checked out their site and they look awesome, pity I'd probably have to double the price with shipping to me, or I'd totally get one as my next bass.

There is a single cutaway in the same pawn shop that I got this one in. I bet I can get the bass bought and shipped to you for around $450 USD. PM if you are interested.

heh I have one of those. I made it look all dad rock with ashtray covers and a black pickguard. With some decent flats on it it's a GREAT recording bass.

Word. I'm planning on putting a black pickguard and flats on mine, as well.
