So I got the Sunn 1200s back from the guy Darren recommended and I couldn't be happier. It sounds like a brand new amp. Zero hiss, LOUDER than ever. had it down to 2 today and it was still overpowering the other amps, He said it was putting out 128 watts to the speakers and with new output tubes ought to put out even more. We talked about it and figured its best to ride these out as you cant buy these anymore. Winged c's are what he recomended I get when they do fail. The list of everything he did was extensive and the bag of parts he replaced that he gave me was pretty large.
Really nice to have it back and better than ever.

What I had suspected turned out to be the case. Quite a few resistors were just not doing the job anymore and I just don't have the tools or know how to diagnose and fix all that.

I missed too much shit again.
That guild bass is fucking tits. Did they do a guitar in a shape like that? I love it!
Also Ax, that's cool you got that mofo sorted. I just ordered some caps to replace my sovtek's old electrolytic filters, and there's a whole bunch more I gotta do while I'm in there. Was thinking of moving the sockets a little so I can move up to kt66 s...eventually.
Anyone had any experience with JJ caps?

so...this is in no way doom at all...although that guitar tone is pretty nice...but i stumbled upon this song the other day. Never heard it before and was extremely surprised the band that did it.

i checked out their other songs, except for Venus, and the other stuff isn't too bad either...

Ended up grabbing that Avatar for $200. 7-ply baltic birch, thing is pretty much brand new, dude had 4 of these made for his party rock band back in '06...bummed I didn't score one of the Eminence loaded ones, but got to crank this with a 50w JMP for a few minutes and was really digging the tone.

Have yet to hook it up to the Meathammer, which I will be doing tonight, but I can already tell that the Celestion Seventy 80s are gonna mesh really well with the DP12as. Pretty much gonna hold onto this until I get my Atlas, then unload the speaks and X pattern them in that with the DP12as and do the same in my Randall 4x12, then sell this unloaded to my buddy for $100. 2 loaded baltic birch 4x12s at a total of $550.

Yeah man, I like the grill, NOTHING is gonna bump into those drivers.

I didn't realize how huge and heavy my Randall 4x12 was until I grabbed this(only cab I have had for 10 years), easily 100+ lbs with 4 DP12a, this guy though feels around 60 lbs.

S-300. Kim Thayil used one for a few songs when I saw Soundgarden live in NOLA pre-King Animal release. I'm a bigger fan of the S-100 personally, but I like this shape for bass. :thumb:

So I've been listening to this smallish band circa 2007, they're no longer writing because the primary singer/guitarist committed suicide after an irreparable hand injury. It's mellow, yet powerful and heavy at the same time:

Well shit fellas, I believe I been dumped! She'll be over in a few to talk about stuff. She's real nice and there's been no foul play so I'd rather keep her but I suppose I'll survive it just isn't going to happen.

Also here's some pix of that lightning storm from the other night: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-1018445

God thats awefull. I live in fear of doing irreperable damage to my hands. They're about the only thing left on my body that isnt somehow damaged.
