OTOH Chris Carter and company are releasing their own Euro Gristleizer later this year (which, afaik, is what the controversy was about, essentially.)
Yeah, I remember that. I'm waiting for Chris Charter's version. Not sure I need it thoughD.o.S. wrote:OTOH Chris Carter and company are releasing their own Euro Gristleizer later this year (which, afaik, is what the controversy was about, essentially.)
I understand that there is such a deep rabbit hole one could go down, and one could easily find a million different ways to start. So far I have only picked up the Mother 32 as a second monosynth. There are a dozen things on the plate before I expand eurorack (machinedrum, pyramid or a carbon or a rm1x, blofeld or micro q, bigger mixer, midiverb ii, bills, head tattoos, the list goes on). Still, even just the Moog is a fun little box, and I have weird ideas how I want to expand in the future, like odd sound sources input as its second oscillator, etc. A m32 felt like a great entry point for me, it might not for others.jwar wrote:God I wish I was smart enough to get into this shit.
I so want to do modular. I'm really leaning towards Moog to start out, but is there an easier route? I just want something that's not going to be impossible for me to learn.
I think I'd be happy with a Mother 32 as well at this point.psychic vampire. wrote:I understand that there is such a deep rabbit hole one could go down, and one could easily find a million different ways to start. Oh man, that Koma is gorgeous...looks like Warps' evil twin. I would have kept the Ripples too though.MrNovember wrote:So I pulled the trigger: sold the Rubicon and Ripples and have a Dixie II+ and SVF201 on the way. I still have some extra cash that I will put towards either a Dunst or Denum to replace the Fourses that I sold.
This rabbit hole really never ends

I want to get into video synthesis so badly, but I have to set a limit somewhere. I'll probably pick up a Critter and Guitari Video Scope at some point because it's a pretty reasonable price. Although, it's quite limited. If I could find the cash I'd pick up a Gieskes 3trinsrgb+1c. But really, I need to set a limit somewherewfs1234 wrote:I'm kinda thinking I should start building a modular system. I really like the idea of being able to create my own landscape, both visually and audibly. So, I really like the idea of building a modular with both audio and visual synthesis. Is anyone here into visual synthesis? I kinda want to build this system because I could have two voices and have a little 16-bit world that I create and control with the sounds I'm making:
Video syntheis is THE reason i want to get into modular. There are a lot of all-in-one synths have the features set I need, but none of them have the potential to let me do visual synthesis! The World Core synth module creates an 8-bit video game world whose color, sprites, existence and everything can be modulated with standard cv input. You don't have to go through that conversion malarkey to do it.MrNovember wrote:I want to get into video synthesis so badly, but I have to set a limit somewhere.
