I had one but traded it to bennybannana and it's the only trade I've made that I regret.

The way Alan described it to me was that it was basically a Huge Box with control over all of the parameters.
Compared to the Megalith it is not as saturated with Fuzz. It's more of a distortion...kind of like the lower gain (input) settings on the Megalith.
Benny has had it a lot longer now than I did and he seems to really like it. Hopefully he'll see this and be able to describe it a little better.
If you have any specific questions I may be able to answer them though.

For bass I'd say Megalith.
But the Heavy Machine is $100 less and if you didn't like it I'd take it off your hands in a snap.

Any particular reason the Megalith is better for bass then the Heavy Machine on bass?

To me the Megalith is more versatile.
With some tweaking you can get a lot of the tones you'd get with the Heavy Machine from the Megalith.
Also, for me the Megalith has that "fuzz I hear in my head" quality on bass.

I came into a Huge Box II recently and it sounds like an amp that's baking brownies.
The Megalith has that More Heavy mode which is dEEEEEP and the Input going up or down in conjunction with the heavy is awesome. If certain settings on a Megalith is the same as the settings on a heavy machine trust that it's worth the extra ca$h if the Heavy Machine is a hella tweakable Huge Box then I would have to sell some amps to buy everything.
