I really enjoy continued correspondence with everyone here, even (and especially) the folks that I get into bullshit arguments with... I've actually had some serious misgivings with some of my own posts because I realize that it's possible I come off as much more of a condescending dick than I mean to be (like, an actual dick rather than a cheeky one), but luckily that hasn't stopped me from having nothing but good times with ILFSS the two times I've participated and the four(?) times I've watched from the sidelines.

What I'm trying to say is that you get super wet for Deafhaven and battle vests I'll buy you a fucking out of print Deafhaven patch even though I think they're entirely trite and useless, and I feel like that's the ILFSS standard. Hopefully I communicated that without being too loaded in the "I'm going to tell you how much I love all of you" to the people you just met fashion.

I'm a little torn on whether or not I should participate this year. I've been in on the secret satan for the last five years, and it really has become my favourite part of christmas. But at the same time I've become such a lurker here over the last couple of years that I'm not sure I really should be part of it anymore.

I guess I have some time til the deadline still, maybe I'll actually make an effort to participate a little more here again.
