thoughts on defenses?
i still have preseason to watch, but ive seen all of week 1 and a good chunk of week 3. so i have seen every teams first string a little bit.
houston's defense/special teams is tops for me
cinci right behind them. really either one you cant go wrong imo
behind those 2 i like the cowboys (monte kiffen in da hooooooouse), the ravens, the packers (they look good, unlike last year)
big sleeper dst? there always is one, every season...
the panthers. current ranked as the 5th WORST dst in fantasy.
so why do i like them?
head coach ron rivera played on the 85 bears. played linebacker next to mike singletary. played under buddy ryan, a GOD of defensive thinking.
was def coordinator in chicago, and built the defense that took them to the super bowl (despite rex grossman), where they got beat by the colts.
rivera has had just enough time since becoming head coach in carolina to really get his claws in, and put together the personnel he wants for the defense he needs to run.
they are young, agile, strong as fuck, and undoubtedly chock-full of PED's.
no one will draft them, obviously, but keep an eye on their defense the first few weeks of the season. they might be a hot pickup down the road.
or i could be way the fuck off. but my eyes tell me theres something going on

i can see sam bradford having a big year. he has no running game, finally got a couple guys who can catch the ball, arm looks like a fucking cannon, 2nd straight year with the same oc (schottenheimer) which he hasnt had ever i dont think...hes a deep one, probably gonna be my backup to my backup but we have 20 roster spots.
one site i use has him ranked 21st among qbs.
downside - hes got sf and sea in his division
not saying it's a solid gold lock, but if i had to pick one sleeper qb, right now, itd be him.
still got (a little) more preseason to watch tho
