Hammering out details.

By the way.... I've been pondering recording the majority of my stay, both audibly and visually. Does anyone have any problems with that? Is there any interest in it? Depending on the space I'd set up mics n video recorders in different parts of the space so we can effectively capture the chaos that ensues....

I dunno if my lady is gonna tag along. I mentioned it to her the other day when she was half asleep on the couch and she didn't seem super enthralled with it, but I'll ask again. Either way. DOOM.

Figuring out my board to bring/going to try to keep it short and sweet while still bringing stuff for everyone to try out as well

Side note - are you southern folks going to be attending Maryland deathfest? Because I am!!

May I make a suggestion:

Open jam is awesome. Open jam is fun. Open jam should happen. But it can a very chaotic environment and can be kind of hard to decipher what is going on (in my opinion from the last ILFNEM). Seeing that this will be a multiple day event, maybe we can section off a couple blocks of time for groups of peeps to play together while the other's hang out and listen/socialize.

Not that blocks of time need to be planned in advanced or very stringent, they can flow naturally and such, but I guess being open to not always having to play

KBI - you have a valid point, some structure will most likely be necessary to prevent all out chaos. We should probably find out who is bringing amps and on what days so we can figure out the logistics of how to space out the time blocks.

I didn't end up getting tickets this year But if you've got any hang time hit me up as I don't live too far off

This sounds really solid. 20+ person jam sessions sound cool in theory, but in practice kind of like a headache. I'm totally down for rotating jams!

Just met up with Christian and Jason to discuss the logistics of the weekend, ended up drinking cold brew coffee, cracking jokes, and twisting knobs! But we did get down to business, too: so my house will be the jam spot on saturday. As much as I would love to have loud music all throughout the weekend, I need to respect the other 6 members of my house and the people on the block. That being said - on saturday we can definitely play for a good amount of time and with a good amount of volume . We can also barbeque and hang (edit: we will barbeque and hang). We are trying to plan other activities for the weekend like possible beach action or general exploration. Let's hear them suggestions!

kbit - I like that idea of taking turns, no strict fascist regiments but a loose kind of order. I want to be able to decipher what amps and what pedals and also what people are doing what. Chaos is cool, too.

Also, for you out of towners you can totally leave your equipment for the weekend here in my basement. I can assure you that it will be a completely safe! I can vouch for all of my housemates. So no worries there. Also, there is not much sleeping space available at my crib unfortunately because it is either cement in the basement or hard wooden floors elsewhere. But if needed, we will arrange something! I'm super stoked to meet all you dudes!

I'm 98.6% positive that everyones equipment will fit safely and securely in the basement. It is quite a large basement. We do have a bunch of equipment down there already but there is plenty of space for all.

Also - Skip - I'm totally for the idea of having mics set up, recording devices recording, vids rolling - whatever ya got!! Might as well document what will surely be an awesome event.
