Yeah, never go back to the canned shaving cream, maz. The throat/neck is always the area that gives me the most trouble as well.

I've been using some Bigelow (made by Proraso) shave cream in a tube. Not too bad. Eventually I'm gonna look for something a little nicer.

So, I've gotten 5 shaves so far from my first Astra blade. Shaves just keep getting better. I guess I'm getting accustomed to the blade.

I do need a better post shave treatment though. I've been using Weleda Skin Food, but it's not really specifically made for the face. More for the extremities. So, a search for an aftershave product more ideal is in order. Not a big fan of the smell of witch hazel though.

I'm switching to a safety razor for my cheeks and neck line. Keeping the beard, though.

OK, so, I'm gonna order some blades.

Should I just go ahead and order Astras (I really like these ones provided by the_carl for me to try) or should I order a sampler and see what else I also might like?

I'm still using the Weleda shave cream + Gillet Sensor Excel.
Sometimes I put Aloes gel as an aftershave.
I have a sensitive skin... this work for me.

Can't remember if I've tried the Weleda shave cream, but I love Weleda products in general.

I'm gonna pick up some aftershave too. Think I might try this:

Not really an after shave, but that's what I use.

Aftershave generally clog my pores due to oïl content.

And I have to avoid perfume stuff.

Is it sacrilegious to use canned shaving cream with a double edge? I just roll with the yellow can Barbasol because that's what my dad used and I don't want to spend 5 hours shaving every morning...

I don't know if it's sacrilegious, I just haven't shaved that way in years. :idk: What do I know? For a while I was shaving with Dr. Bronner's. Definitely not the ideal shaving lubricant. I've found other types of shaving creams/soaps/gels/whatever give a better shave in general than canned though. Stick with what works for you.

There's a shave gel at the dollar tree that I found to be awesome. Just got a Remington Black Diamond electric shaver cuz work demands regular shaving and I'm tired of razor burn from shaving too much. I need two or three days growth to get a decent blade shave. The Black Diamond works pretty well, no irritation, and good enough for work. I hate shaving.

I use a safety razor, but I need recommendations on quality shaving cream and aftershave. Anyone?
