As a graphic designer by day, I am with you. The pedals I use aesthetically need to fit my vibe as well as sound great. I usually like pretty simple, clean design so the stuff by Visual Sound, Black Cat and Rocktron (Boutique line) really work well for me.

Since I was an aspiring cartoonist back in the day and an avid fan of the tattoo genre, I really like all the stuff from ProTone Pedals that have been coming out. Dennis works with some tremendous artists that, while the layout and looks don't have as cohesive a brand image as what I've mentioned prior, the collection as a whole works on a larger, more art-oriented scale.

Actually... [yeah well fuck you guys] There is a part of me that has image of what a live board should look like and then there are pedals I just think look fucking cool... "if I had my way" the rig I used for live I'd love it too look all moogish and 3Xfx.. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE CLOTH COVERED PEDALZ! and more rubber coated pedals, and pedals glowing bases, and pedals with vu meters! as much as pedals with cool paint jobs... And about the K-on! pedal... Eric of Mellowtone made it that way... sure I like K-on! and anime themed stuff.. but given a choice I would still want pedals to look like devices IN SI-FI animes VS fan art.. Thing is though A. that pedal was given to me by MLC and nothing sounds like it
